Sounds like all of you had some great David Cook meeting experiences! It still just makes me a tad jealous, but I know my time will come. Maybe earlier than I think when the Nov.12th Gala comes along, and I may get the chance.

I haven't met him yet, but I know I will meet him, and I also know I'll probably burst into tears when I look into his eyes. I just want him to hug me, that's all. Just that momentary contact. I don't know what I'd say, probably just "thank you," because that covers it all. If I told him everything he means to me it would take all day and night. So just that hug, that touch...a "thank you"...for a moment...that would make me the happiest woman on earth.

I met David at the Cleveland show, at the meet and greet. I was bling-traced enough to not be able to say anything interesting, but I told him that I am a big fan and that he was the first person ever who won Idol who i wanted to win. He said "well then, you're batting one for seven!" He was joking around with Carly and doing that great laugh of his. He was nice enough to break the meet and greet rules to sign an extra pic that I brought to get signed for my sister.

Here he is right before I met him, appearing to be eating a cookie:

I was lucky enough to meet David after the show at Rosemont, Chicago, IL 7-19-08. I went to the show with my husband, daughter and her husband who all love DC. I'm a lucky woman that way! First out was MJ and KLC but after that was David and he came right over to the side of the building where my daughter and I were and the first thought I had was "he is shorter than I thought he would be..." lol! BUT So Gorgeous! The eyes were dark green, the skin was gorgeous pale, he had on the red KC cap and white t with tons of necklaces. I had often thought about what I would ask him if I was face to face with his awesomeness but not too much came out... I was for sure star struck...just something about loving AH and how awesome he was. He was very graciously and said "Thank You!" as he was signing my t-shirt and Rolling Stones article. My daughter, Danyel told him she liked his Cross necklace and he also thanked her and told her that he actually was able to design it and have it made special. We got hugs and pics with him and I was glad I had my favorite Shalimar perfume on, but he was really being pushed that night. Security Dave whispered in his ear that he only had 10 minutes but he stretched it out to more like 20 and tried his hardest to accomodate everyone he could. David is all that and then some and if anyone ever gets the chance to meet him, make sure you get one of his wonderful hugs! He is truely a unique spirit and is genuinely a warm soul.

LOL. The very first time I met David was backstage the first night in Kansas City. He walked in the room, and I immediately told him that his friend was stuck outside without passes and couldn't get back to see David. (David asked Security Dave/Famous Dave if we could correct that. Dave just looked at David and gave him a "Yeah" as in "Hello, you're David Cook. Of course, we can give him backstage passes." Then, David asked me where his friend was. I tried to explain it and obviously didn't do a good job of it, because David asked me to go with Famous Dave/Security Dave to go get his friend so that he could get backstage.)

It was funny - I could have said anything at all and I was totally stressed that his friend was being harassed by the arena staff to leave the venue as David's friend tried to explain that someone was getting a message to David and that he'd soon have the required passes to get backstage.

Right, JessicaT? I TOTALLY just pounced on David for li'l bro.

I had the honor of meeting David in Minneapolis. It was before the show. He was the very first one to come out. Just as everyone else has said, he is so amazing with his fans. He takes his time with everyone and really makes you feel appreciated. He met my sister first. She had brought with her a breast cancer bracelet that she had written inside...she put her name and 9 years cancer-free. (She was diagnosed with breast cancer at just 27. We had no previous family history.) She had her video camera on David as she handed him her bracelet. She said, "I didn't know if you had a breast cancer one yet, but I am 9 years breast cancer free." He said, "Congratulations!" Then looked down at his wrist and said, "You know what? There's always room for one more." Then he put it on. I thought I was going to cry. I hugged her and said, "Thank you sssooo much! She's my sister!" He goes "aaawwww". He signs her shirt (We had pink David Cook shirts on.) Then he takes this crazy pic with her.
Next is me...yes, I am the obesessed one! LOL He says, "Hi! How are you?" I said "Awesome!!!!" I then stick my chest out at him like "Sign me wherever!" (I warned my sister I was going to do this...just being a total DORK!!! =] ) I think I kind of shocked him! He makes this crazy face & then does it right back to me! My sister is laughing her ass off (she is supposed to be filming this by the way...but is too busy laughing.) I'm like "Julie!!! You're supposed to be videoing!!!" At this point all three of us are laughing histerically while he is trying to sign my shirt. My sister goes "That's my crazy little sister!!" David smiles and says "Hey..." then makes a face like "there's nothing wrong with that." Then I asked him if I could have a picture with him. He says "Absolutely!" I stand on my tippee toes and put my arm around him. (I am shaking like crazy!) He then leans right in and puts his head on mine!!! OMG I thought my legs were going to give out! They were shaking like crazy! The picture turned out awesome! He has such an amazing smile! He was everything I thought he would be and more! I will be a Cook fan for life!

Oh yeah, I forgot...we also got a shout out @ the concert from Michael Johns too!!! It was definately the time of our lives!!! =]

I thought I had posted here before, but I checked and could not find it. I had the pleasure of meeting David in OKC. Visit my profile, because my whole story of meeting DC is there.

Haven't cried at the DCO site for at least a week, but these posts broke me down. Just when I've convinced myself, D.C. is just a man like any other, [puts on his jeans one leg at a time, eats chili and predictably has gas] I read a post like cntrypmpkn's and I want to beat my head against my desk in envious agony.
I can understand why he doesn't like pix of him crying; he's a man, and tho he's not ashamed to cry, he doesn't want it all over the internet either. I sure his buddies tease him about it. I don't think he understands how some fans feel about it [I kinda don't; certainly wouldn't pix of me crying now!] but I certainly won't ever step up to him [if ever i get a chance!] with any teary photos for him to sign!

Ah! What would I really do if I met him? Still don't know. Would I cry? Would I be rooted to the spot unable to move, only my gaze following him? Think I'd be too shy to approach him. Afraid I would cry and very embarrass myself. A hug from him? A full-body hug???????
Egad, I wouldn't dare! I would explode/implode from the intensity of the moment, of his touch! Oh, no,no,no,no! Oh my, sensory overload!
Want very much to meet him and very afraid to meet him! What a paradox! Silly me.

And I laugh at myself, while the tears roll down, cause it's the world i know

DAVID COOK

Love foreva,
Caroline:)

I was fortunate enough to attend the Ford Day mini concert on 9/19 (A nice DC fan in Ohio had an extra ticket and was kind enough to send it to me). I am a Ford employee so it was really nice to be there. Both David C and David A put on a great performance. I had heard rumors that they might come out after the concert and sign some autographs so I brought my favorite photo of DC from Rolling Stone Magazine (the one with him and the martial arts student doing a punch). I love this photo because I taught martial arts for 12 years.

I was standing a few people back when my photo was finally passed into his hands. He looked at it, looked up and found me and said "I love this photo, this little girl had no idea what was going on, they just grabbed her off the street as she was walking by." I laughed and told him I was a martial arts instructor and I thought it was a great photo. He smiled and handed it back to me (he signed it perfectly) I resisted the urge to critique his martial arts technique since I figured he’d probably just learned the punch a few minutes before the photo was taken (LOL). Smiling

My favorite moment was a few minutes later when I was able to get close enough to him to get a photo. He was signing something and he turned around and I caught his attention and asked if I could get a photo with him. He smiled and said "absolutely” came over to where I was standing and leaned over (he was standing on a stage )and gave this great smile so we could get the photo.

I want everyone to know how patient, gracious and kind he was to everyone there. He hung around for over an hour signing, taking photos and just chatting with everyone. He was a true gentleman and it is apparent that he really does appreciate his fans!

I met him in Manchester, NH on 8/10. We got to talk quite a bit actually. We talked about his new tattoo and his necklaces. He seemed to get a kick out of the ginormous Analog Heart poster I had made. He just stepped back and stared at it for like a minute! Then I gave him a personalized water bottle I made him, and after he read it he cracked it open right there on the sidewalk and took a big gulp (I begged him not too since the water had to have been at least 85 degrees)! He the proceeded to fake dry heave! We took a super cute picture together (him with my water bottle in his mouth)! It was awesome. There's a vidoe of it on my page...check it out!

august 20th is my birthday too Smiling
i just wanted to mention that Smiling

I had the most amazing experience with his at Ford Day. I had tried at two concerts to meet him and he didn't come out or couldn't come out.

So Ford Day was just amazing! A small venue and half the crowd wanted to see Archie, so we waited patiently with the half that wanted to meet DC. The first time I spoke to him, he had just told someone, he wished we would stop taking pix of him crying -they had asked him to sign the pix. I was standing right in front of him, one person between us, and I said "but it's Beautiful!" and he smilled and hung his head for a second. Then he looked up right into my eyes and smiled that gorgeous silly smile of his. When it was my turn for an autograph or whatever, I gave him a pix of my kids, wearing their DC Rocks shirts I had made. He said "aw!!" and I melted!! I was able to get his autograph on my copy of the pix and a autograph for a WN living out of the country. I also got a quick hug....OOOOOO!!!

He was so sweet and very accommodating. He really wanted to give everyone their chance to meet him and any pix they wanted. Security was pushing him really hard to get done, so he quick finished with autographs....we thought he was going to leave then. But he ended up staying anoth 10-20 min making sure everyone got their pix. We were able to get another hug (I asked for a second one because I didn't get a pix of the first one). He was so sweet about it. He said something about it being a prolonged hug, as we were hugging. Then he let us take a group pix with him.

He made sure everyone was all set with pix and autographs before he left. He was just amazing!!! Very Fun!! Very Real!! and Very Sweet!!

Thank You David!!!

I met him in Washington DC at like, 3:00. Sometime around then. I had been standing next to him, trying to get his attention, and when I finally gave up, I yelled his name one last time, he kept walking..so I figured I wasn't going to meet him. To my surprise, he had been wanting to save me for last [[nice of him, I know..]] because I was one of the youngest and most dedicated fans there apparently. But he walked right up to me, said he was sorry for skipping me, he was saving me for last, said he liked my shirt, and got a picture. I told him he was amazing [[Of course..]] and he hugged me and told me it really meant a lot to have someone that's the age of all the Archie fans to stand out in the crowd and be a Cook fan [[I had told him I'm the only Cook fan in my school, which is true]].
It was really really nice...he's a total sweetheart..I was shaking and the first thing he does is calm me down..he's so sweet..I love him. lol

**H00k'd.0n.C00k**

It was around 4 PM before the 2nd KC show. He took his time with the first half of the line, but was then told that he had to hurry up by the security guard. So he had to zoom through us, only giving autographs. Watching him come closer, I realized that I had to say something. I had already missed my chance of meeting him in Indy, and I wasn't just gonna get an autograph out of this. So right when he got to me, I (lamely) said "David, you're so amazing!" and he said "You know what? Thank you, it means so, so much" and looked up and smiled. It was quick, yet awesome. Smiling
