I never really watch SNL but when I found out that you were going to be on it I couldn't wait to see it!!! I stayed up that late just to hear your new songs, I knew they were going to be amazing because you're always surprising and I knew that you would make really great songs, just like the songs on your Analog Heart cd!! I kept watching it over and over since I saw it! Your song Declaration helps me out whenever I need it because it gives me the push I need to help me through things when they get rough. It's one of my favorite songs from your album!! And its basically one of the best songs ever made!!!!! I love you David!!!
OMG!!!!!!!! He was so awesome on SNL!!!!!! I kept watching it over and over!!!!! He still amazes me with his voice and his tendency to always wow the people that have voted for him ever since american idol!!!!! I honestly think he is going to become really big. Whenever i meet a friend and they have never listened to them i play them one of my favorite songs by him and they even start to like him! It's amazing how he can draw so many people in!! Ilove that he has his chance to shine because he wants to show people what he is made of. He put everything he had into those songs on his albu and on his performances on SNL. David Cook is my idol!!!!!
A very nice first effort . . . and execution that seems to have garnered attention from rock fans and people who didn't "meet" David on AI. Good job out of you! But only 4 stars from me because I think we'll see even greater performances in the future (and because I'm stingy).
Light On was nice. Vocally it's a tough song that would -- I imagine -- be even tougher in a live venue like the SNL sound stage. Declaration absolutely knocked me out! I love it. It was fabulous. And the boys ROCKED it.
How surreal must it be to perform in a venue like SNL? Not surprisingly, I though the nerves showed during the first number. While the performance was still great, I felt like the "wall" that we saw at the beginning of the AI season was back up. David was visibly more relaxed in his performance of Declaration. Then, the sensual, playful, charismatic connection that I felt during David's later AI performances was back full force.
Wow! Should I really be surprised that David Cook just blew me away yet again. Light On is not an easy song to sing as I have learned whilst trying to sing along with Mr. Cook while cruising in my car. Yet he nailed it proving that he's up to par to take on such a difficult song outside of the studio. And then there's Declaration. If ever there was a song that proved David is the real deal, this is it: the fact that David wrote Declaration demonstrates he's a real artist capable of making real music. The instant I heard it, I was in pure rock bliss bopping my head around along with Kyle.
The acoustics for both songs sounded fabulous to me and the music was nice and loud as good rock music should be, yet David's powerful voice came through loud and clear. The band overall gelled very well--looked like they've been doing this for years. I knew Andy, Neal and David would would have no problem bonding as a band, but Joey and Kyle seem to fit right in as if they truly belong there. Kyle's energy on the drums is awe-inspiring. That guy is like the Energizer Bunny on drums.
Guys. The best of luck to you. I will send happy thoughts to you in my sleep as it will be around 3 at night here in CPH/DK when you do your show, but I know you all will do well. You will make my Sunday breakfast perfect.
