This has to be my favorite song on the album. I think I listen to this song more than any other on the album - love the melody and the lyrics. I think this song really showcases David's voice well, especially at full power - he can definitely belt it out without screaming. And I think the production quality is pretty good too. This song got my attention on the radio and after hearing it a few times compelled me to explore the rest of the CD.

I just love listening to this song. Its great to rock to. Especially, when you play it or sing it. Its my most listen to song on my iTunes. I never get tired of listening to "Light On". I'm glad I also get to listen to it on the radio, still. I just really love the song.
David Cook has been keeping his "Light On" since he won American Idol
Light On would have to been one of the best songs of 2008. I believe that David Cook will become one of the best artists in this decade just because of that song!

I love the light on's MTV. guess what, I got a copy of your album. yes! I do really save my money just to have one. although, i don't have CD player here at home. I just imported the tracks in itunes so that i can transfer those to my ipod. now, I really lend time for my "sound trip" ofcourse, after school hours. hahaha.

Much as I relish this song, I initially felt that Light On should not have been David's first single, for it's more suitable as a third or fourth hit single off DCTR.
But, that was then - now, it's impacting the pop and rock charts slowly, but nicely. It's the type of song that only keeps sounding better after 4-5 listens, or maybe even more for those who initially disliked that song.

This song I have heard a billion times, but still love it like the first time I heard it. When anyone asks me what my favorite song on the album is this one always gets kicked aside and it shouldn't cause it's awesome and your vocals are absolutely flawless in this song.

Ever since I heard David's acoustic version he performed with Neal at WPLJ 99.5 radio station, I have a whole new appreciation for this song. Not that didn't like the song before and no disrespect to the cd version, however, this acoustic performance was superior. That being said, now when I listen this song I see it in a whole new "light" hehe. My daughter said she heard Light On 4 times yesterday while she was at daycare! That is awesome that the plays are picking up here on our local station.

I mean come on... sure we were all secretly hoping to hear "Hello" or a familiar Analog Heart song as the first single, but it just didn't happen! It took me a while, but this song grew on me.
Now this is the first track I put on, and crank up when I listen to this CD.
I am really not impressed with the video though.
The David Cook on the cd cover, and the new video just doesn't look to me, like the same David Cook we all fell in love with so many months ago.
This made up, molded look that his managers, and producers are creating for him to sell records with just doesn't look like the same guy who walked out in front of those judges and struck such a chord with us.
The music, and heart is still there, and it is awesome.
Maybe it's just me.
David certainly wasn't a pretty boy before, why is he so made up and clean cut now?
