I Heard "The Daily AntheM On American Idol"
When I was watching American Idol yesterday, I actually heard David Cook's song, "The Daily AntheM". I was so excited when I heard the song. I hope one of David Cook's song plays again in American Idol soon.
It is not just a college tour, but could you please list at least these more public venues?
David does have some non-college performances, where non-students can freely buy tickets.
It would be really useful if the Webnerds could please list those performances under "Events," at least for the shows where there are already sales to the general public.
From the forum threads, I know of two concerts so far with tickets on sale to the general public, and another one reportedly at a casino around Kansas City.

I was so disappointed iand sad when you said you were doing a college tour. the college kids will probably get all the tickets right away, then nothing left for us. : (
there are a lot of us that were disappointed when we heard only a college tour. Just want to see you live so badly and if you even do come to MN, I probably won't get tickets anyway. Still love you though.

Tickets now available to the Public for two David Cook concerts so far (at least two that I know of)!
Here are the shows where I've found tickets being sold to the general public:
Virginia Beach Patriotic Festival already listed under "Events" here at DCO. "PATRIOTIC" is the special word to buy tickets during the current pre-sale period.
Biloxi, Mississippi concert on February 14 is selling tickets to the general public by calling the casino at 1-888-566-7469. The website link in the forum threads mistakenly indicates that tickets are not available, but I had no problem buying a ticket over the phone on January 21.
The "Upcoming Events (Unofficial)" thread here at DCO lists several other venues were tickets will be sold to the general public.
I'm hoping that DCO's posts all these events, especially where tickets are being sold to the general public. Until then, we at least have the unofficial info.

When I heard what song they used and then the clips of your journey it made me cry. Seeing how far you have come is AMAZING. I am soo proud of you. I DVRed it and I have watched it many times. Everytime I get emotional. This season has alot to live up to. After watching the first week, no one sticks out like you and Archie did last year.

When A Daily AntheM came on I was so happy! I didn't know that it was going to be used on the show that day but it was a very nice surprise. It is my favorite song on the album. I have listened to it sooo many times already its crazy. I do hope it is a single. When the highlights from all the pass seasons were being show I was like "Come on. Show David already!" That was so weird that David's parents showed up on camera at the KC auditions but it was pretty cool!

So David, I like the pet on tour how fun!! Anywho, I think you should sing Clumsy by Our lady Peace when you come through indianapolis, in. Or better yet put it on an album. That would be sweet. You are just my favorite singer and that is one kick ass song, it would be a win win. Have you ever thought about doing any seven mary three songs? Cause they were some what popular for a half a second, but you could really make a #1 song. Especially if you did their song Lucky. OMG!!! That would be so wild, I'd love to hear you sing those songs. Like when you had to do a Neil Diamond Song, I was praying you would do Love on the Rocks. Man you would have nailed it on that one. You did perfecf though cuz thats why you are where you are. But I would love to hear you sing those songs. Daily Anthem - Silence - Kiss on the Neck
Thanks for all your help concerning the 8 minutes of silence. That is very interesting....inserting a hidden track. (I guess you can tell that I am like really old) I thought it was pretty cool just with the two bonus tracks: 13 - Time of My Life & 14: Breathe Tonight (really like this one). For a debut CD...I don't think any other artist could come close to David. All the songs are just absolutely awesome....especially Bar-ba-sol....What a Rocker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How to Hear "Kiss on the Neck" without the contemplative silence

I found the thread easily by typing "Kiss on the Neck" into the search thing on this home page. The first post in response to the question tells you how to get rid of the gap.
Kiss on the Neck, and of course it is not a defective CD LOL :)
You are so right. To answer your question about "Kiss on the Neck," it is the hidden track on the album.
On my Itunes version and my CD's, "Kiss on the Neck" comes on around the 12:01 point of "A Daily Anthem," which ends the long silence between "A Daily AntheM" and "Time of my Life."
If you want to make "Kiss on the Neck" playable without the meditative silence, there is a thread in the David Cook Discussion forum that tells you how you can take out the time gap by copying "A Daily AntheM" twice, once with a shorter recording time. I'm not sure exactly how it works.
bonus tracks
Yes, the bonus track Kiss on the Neck is at minute 12 on track 12.....there is a much faster way to hear it though, I just go to track 13 and hit fast rewind for a few seconds and I'm there. As for why they do these hidden tracks, I have no idea but my kids tell me other artists do this as well so it is nothing new. Yes, I agree it is annoying, but I will never skip Kiss on the Neck - it is one of my favorites!!!!

I only wish they'd played more of A Daily AntheM on the show. Really enjoyed the David clips last night. And yes, his photo on the backdrop is very distracting!

No David Cook = Idol sucks!! Has anyone seen where they have put DC's gorgeous face on the background of where the contestants are auditioning? I see more of Ruben and the other guy than DC!! I protest!! But I did notice that when I did get to see DC on the background I became distracted and wasnt really paying attention to the audition.
I hope that they play more of DC's tunes during the show than what they played last night - I missed the first night as I was out of town but I was looking forward to more DC tunes.....

Not a defective CD
First off I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the whole CD, there is not one song I didn't like right off the bat. "Daily Anthem" is one of my favorite songs and I am bummed that I missed AI to see David sing it (was doing homework with Granddaughter).
About the CD from Wal-Mart being defective, no it is not. "Daily Anthem" is 4:22 min. long then there is 11:00 minutes of silence which is annoying before the bonus track "Time of my Life", (not sure what "Kiss on the Neck") is.
David & American Idol
Last season was the very first time that I followed the show until the very end...and the one and only reason is because of this very talented young man. I was extremely impressed with him. I missed the episode last night...therefore missing David. I just don't think there will ever be another Idol that will come close to last year. David and ZZ Top just blew me away.
A Daily Anthem....this title brings up an issue for me and I would like to see if all you other fans can help me. Here is the issue: I purchased David's CD at the local Wal Mart. On my copy - Track 12 - A Daily Anthem (track is approximately 15 min. & 24 sec.) Well here is the thing....A Daily Anthem plays for 4 min & 14 sec. and then it is completely silent for approx. 8 minutes and then for the remainder 3 min or so....I get to hear "Kiss on the Neck". So...DC fans plz tell me if this the way the CD is supposed to be or am I the unlucky recipient of a defective CD. I just can not imagine why there would be 8 minutes of silence.
And David you are so wonderful and talented....you are just like a breath of fresh air listening to you sing.
NEW SEASON......NOT THE SAME
Im having a hard time getting into the new Idol season. I was never really consumed by the show, but last season I was so intriqued by David I got hooked. I suppose it was more him than the show that captured me and now, I think......I have found everything Idol has to offer me. Though I think its so cool that Jasons brother made it through, good luck to ya kid!

How sweet was it to hear YOUR song played on AI? Very appropriate that they are highlighting you this season, as I think many of us feel this show was on a decline and you saved the season. OK, I'll give the other contestants a little credit, but really, YOU were the reason many of us even watched last year.

I watched Idol 8 on Tuesday and Wednesday night just to get a glimpse of your face. It was refreshing to see how well Fox presented you as the last year's winner. I felt so proud that I almost cried of joy. Every time they showed your face, even if it was only for a fraction of a second, my daughters and I jumped and screamed of pure happiness. I loved the clip from A Daily AntheM! It was EPIC!
Sorry, but Idol will never be the same without you. I found my lifetime American Idol last year and there is no way anyone will take your place, David Cook.
