I'm a little confused!
I posted a video on VH1, and one on the page for it here (although I couldn't get it to embed for some reason...). Anyway I have a couple of questions:
1. How do people "vote"? Is it just rating on the DCO page? Thumbs up on the VH1 page? Are these going to be judged by votes?
2. Is there a way to make a direct link on DCO to my video, so that if I direct people to watch it on here they won't have to scroll down the page?
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

How about a song writing challenge?
Hey D;
I think it is great you are giving fans an opportunity to be creative. How about a challenge to add lyrics to a song? Maybe you could write part of it then let fans finish it? We could add a new line every week? Just a thought. I would love to get involved, but you really don't want me to sing. However, I enjoy watching your tutorial over and over (without understanding anything you are saying - it's the "sing the phone book" thing I guess!)

Some of Light On Challenges Being Put in Wrong Place
I noticed this morning that a lot of people are sending their Light On Cover attempts to You Tube and not to VH1. This is too bad, because some of them are pretty good. Others, not so good. As David has said himself, this is a very hard song to sing. The chorus is great for singing along, but the verses are tough. But I hope all the triers on You Tube will be encouraged to move their try onto the correct site so we can vote on them. and ensure that David gets to hear them for the Challenge. Thanks

Wow... I just fell in love with David all over again. I wish I could download this version of Ligh On. I have to admit I don't play the guitar and have no intention of entering this contest, but I loved watching the video of David's lesson. Could he be any sexier??? Good luck to all who enter!
You don't have to play the guitar.
To answer the previous poster on this thread, the instructions at the VH1 site say you can do it without instruments, with a band, a ukulele, etc. Anything to show the world you are "down with David."
I'd say that two-year old Jagger is definitely down with David. Rock On little dude!
And thanks to David and Neal for the wonderful acoustic version. Neal's guitar playing is beautiful. And, I'm amazed at how well David sings such a tough song.

i've been trying to play it over and over for like the past 3 hours but cant get it yet cuz i just started guitar not to long ago! but i will eventually get it!! haha

Is it ok if u dont play the guitar in the video? I do play guitar but unfortunately have been ill and still am, so havent been able to pick it up. I dont mind doing the vocals my mates would love that they want me to start singing again...if its possible not to use guitar could someone say, but thanks david for doing the video on how to play its very usefull, i wish all musicians did that, so massive thanks. I would love to enter this challenge but I have no guitar skills. Anyway with you as the teacher, I would have a hard time focusing because are so amazing and beautiful. Seeing Neal there was great. Someone below made a suggestion that Michael Johns and Jason should make a video. I would love to see that.

...who has watched this instructional video like 20 times absolutely mesmerized by the intimacy of the private feel of it and just floored by the gorgeousness of his voice unfettered by anything but the acoustic guitars?
I have zero musical talent and don't know an A minor from a coal miner, but by the time I'm done watching this video over & over, I'll be an expert on how to play Light On! (lol)
David, I know your intent in giving us this great video was to help those serious musical types to create their own video of LO, but it's turned out to be so much more. Even if inadvertently, you have given us talent-challenged adoring fans a giant Cookie crumb and we thank you for it. Okay, here we go. My version. I really didn't spend as much time as I could have getting the vocal down. I only sang it through on recording once, because I'm lazy like that, but here you go! Enjoy everybody!

Thanks for the instructional video David. You make one hell of a SEXY teacher! I can't play the guitar to save my life but I think this is a great idea for your fans and a way of connecting/interacting with them.
