Love this song, one of my favorites from your album! And it's my first time to see you perform Lie. Love it! Heard you're already working on your next album. Can't wait for that. Sure it will be a huge success! By the way, I know it's too late but still I'm gonna say, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY DAVID! Hope you get to read this. =)

Your performance of "Lie" on Carrie Underwood's special was absolutely amazing especially the part where you sang without any accompaniment! Your voice is just ....... AHHHHHHHHHH!!!

One of my favourite songs - definitely a performance worthy of a standing ovation. Happy Holidays!

WOW

This was great! You sounded and looked wonderful Smiling Absolutely loved this performance!

I thought "Lie" was beautiful. I'm sad we didn't get to see the duet. Hopefully you will be able to duet with Carrie again real soon.

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday David, Happy Birthday to you..

What an outstanding job you did singing that song. It is my personal favorite and I was lucky to see you perform it Live @ The Fillmore in Charlotte, NC...I melted just watching you (10 feet from the stage). You truly are one beautiful person..Have a wonderful birthday and best wishes.

Your #1 Fan in Charlotte, NC

You looked very handsome David!! And it was an AMAZING performance. I keep watching it over and over. I. Love. You.

I loved David's voice in his performance on Carrie's show and am a real fan. What I missed in his performance, though, is his eye contact with me. When David "looks me in the eye" during his performance, I get such a thrill. I hope David brings back the eye contact he had during his best American Idol performances.

I feel like Davids been practicing this version of "Lie", on us, his fans at his live concerts all year! This performance was really good, and I enjoyed being "guinea pigged" at the concerts. I am so glad he did this song! The public got to hear a polished up version of a different song than the ones they've been playing on the radio. It sounded great there. I am so glad he was on the show! I agree that the band seemed out of place in the dark in the back, hidden. They are a beautiful band, with talent that they deserved to be recognized for in the spotlight WITH David. Oh well... too late now..But very good job Anthemic boys...Thanks for still being there beind David. It was a great performance. Us fans KNEW you were there anyways. Who else could it be? An Anthemic performance. Clap clap clap clap clap (applause)!!!

No words... He's my IDOL. Smiling

David-

I am still amazed at how you sing with passion! How fun to see a Holiday special with you as one of the stars.
While watching the show I was hoping to see you engage with the audience (that includes the TV audience). I have seen in the past how successful you are in reaching out to people. Please continue sharing yourself with your fans and expressing your gratitude for your many fans. Happy Holidays! Fran

Though I found the show overall cheezy and fast forwarded through most of it (sorry, just being honest!), I thought "Lie" was beautiful. I still think that song should have been a single! My only problem was this...I thought it was supposed to be David Cook and The Anthemics, not David Cook and The Band That Shouldn't Be Seen? I didn't like the placing of the band, at all. Also, bummed the duet was never shown. Shouldn't that have been approved BEFORE it was done? Whoever was supposed to do that, clearly wasn't doing their job right. JMO But other than that, amazing performance, as always. Smiling

Hey David! I hate to say it, and no offense to Carrie, but I did tune in just to see you.. And of course you were gorgeous and adorably handsome, and AWESOME! as always. Another Fabulous "Goosebump giving" performance. The only negative thing was that it wasn't your Christmas Special, hopefully next year fingers crossed. Happy Holiday's to you and yours, and take good care Mr Cook. Helen xo Oh ya, and by the way my profile on this site ( which hopefully you've seen, and maybe even had the chance to read some of it, it makes me happy to think you did..) the name HelenFromCanada same profile name on Twitter. ya know just sayin ;D Hey can't blame a girl for trying ........ Helen From (Montreal, Quebec, Canada. )

OMD! I love this!!!! Waiting for the next music video... what ever song you're making it on... CAN'T WAITTTT!!!! WOO WOOO WOO!! Haha :-|

David - I have been in major David Cook withdrawal ever since the end of the Declaration Tour in Charlotte, NC on Dec 1st, so it was wonderful to get to see and hear you (acoustically) perform Lie once again. I am so glad that you performed this song on Carrie's special so many new fans could experience the David Cook that we have all come to love even more over the past 9 months of the Declaration Tour!

My first live performance of Lie was at your Mystic Lake concert in Prior Lake, MN on July 24th - (remember we were the crowd you did not have to ssshhhh! during your a cappella verse- we were all just mesmerized). Smiling David, thanks for all you give to your fans. We can hardly wait to hear your next album and see you on your next tour. Sure hope you have a wonderful holiday and birthday with your family and close friends! Enjoy your New Year's Eve celebration in Temecula! Wish I could be there to ring in the New Year with You, The Anthemic, and your Fans. I know it will be just incredible! Just want to thank you for making 2009 a very memorable year for all of your fans. You have positively impacted so many of our lives by bringing us together to share your wonderful music.

We love you, your music, your passion, and your wonderful spirit! See you next year......HUG!

P.S. I definitely agree with the post below from ItsMyTime!

This was such a beautiful performance of "Lie". Absolutely LOVED it. I cannot WAIT for a new album. It's great to hear you've been in the studio writing, etc!

David you are such a beautiful and sexy man! Lie is my favorite song.
Im just being a fan and telling you how great you are now and how much i love you
so i wont feel bad later on that i didnt. You, Michael Jackson and The Beatles are my favorites.
I really think you are in the same league as they, and even if im just a number in your fanclub,
I hope I brighten up your day, you are never more beautiful than when you smile or especially when you
cry tears of joy. Smiling
enjoy your vacay!
love love love,
Gina

Absolutely beautiful performance...

Well, Carrie has good taste. Lie is perfectly written and performed. David, you simply tear my heart out every time. I have to admit, this is one of my all-time favorite songs EVER. And while it's been sexy to watch you get sweaty in Sacramento in a T-shirt, and rock the Filmore in a beanie and flannel, you're just as delicious in a button-down shirt and fitted jacket. With those boots, you're just a mid-Western gentleman singing from his soul.

And BTW, growing up as an avid Journey fan, I wanted to thank you for Journey-esque ending to Daily Anthem. And don't think I didn't notice the Steve P. acknowledgment in the CD sleeve. Ah...I knew I loved that voice of yours the first time I heard it. It brought me back 20 years, along with all of those crazy teenage feelings.

Enjoy the holidays with friends and family. Can't wait to see what you come up with in 2010. Some acting, perhaps?

Thank you for this song. I love you. I hope, some day, you come to Buenos Aires. We waiting for you, with the open arms. Best for you. Bea

Hi David Cook!

My name is Taylor and I go to Seton High School (I don't know if you have heard of us or not).
We have had many celeberties come to our school in the past 2 years. Including Jason Castro (he came today), David Archulate (last year), Kris Allen (this year), and Natasha Beningfield.
I am a HUGE fan of yours and I wanted to know if you would ever consider coming to our school??
We could support some of the charities you support and help raise money for cancer awareness and many other things!!! Its all up to you!

Lots of Love and God Bless.

Your fan,

Taylor

Wonderful performance! I love it.

Must confess to feeling a bit DC deprived. Last year, post Idol, there were so many performances(Happy Christmas...loved it) to book on the calendar. Thank goodness for the feeds which provide endless enjoyment.
I wonder with David's birthday just 10 days away how he plans to celebrate? I remember him saying that holiday plans would include a family graduation celebration, but nothing about the b-day plans.
Ideas??

This is perfect. Absolutely perfect. For me, this is like Always Be My Baby or The World I Know. I can put it on a loop and listen to it for hours on end. If this version is not released as a single, then I hope someone writes a tell-all book someday to explain why not.

wow..!
that's pretty awesome..,!
you're really great David.., you're the greatest singer i ever known..,
you can turn any songs to whatever you want it to be..,

"Beautiful job and your voice was so rich and powerful, glad the band did not drown you out, sometines they do..."

I love everything about The Anthemic, but I love to hear David's voice more! Isn't this as much a technical sound man's responsibility? To make sure the vocals are not drowned out ?

This performance! I've heard Lie live ten times and twenty zillion times on my ipod. This performance was like one I had never heard before.

If "Lie" was chosen as a single, I bet DCTR would have went TRIPLE platinum by now! BIG mistake, RCA! But what do I know... Eye-wink

Beautiful job and your voice was so rich and powerful, glad the band did not drown you out, sometines they do. "David's gift is his voice, our gift is David Cook".

Thank you so much for posting this on the front page so us overseas fans could see it! It's wonderful. He and Andy sounded fantastic! I wish they'd shown Andy and the rest of the band, but it was still fantastic.

As always, you blew me away!!! This performance was pure perfection.

I LOVE you so!!!! This performance rocked!!!

David's Girl!!

David, I sure hope you always have time to read these awesome comments ment to uplift and inspire you, because you uplift all of us (your fans)! The hair was a little different; but what the heck guys, it was DAVID COOK. Isn't that really all that matters?! GREAT heartfelt performance! I could really tell that you put your all into the song. But hey, don't you always? Just seeing you on TV makes me miss seeing you on tour all over again. Your song LIE is contagious and it NEEDS to be a video (single). What can you do to make that happen? Please try to get a single (video) out for LIE (a cappella) so we can vote for it on VH1's countdown. Hope to see more of you on TV (maybe New Year's Eve?). MISS YOU MUCH.

I would have commented sooner, but I was overcome with awe. David Cook is simply the greatest singer/songwriter/musician/performer I have ever witnessed in my entire life. This is not hyperbole. It is an understatement. If there is any justice in this world, David Cook's star will shine bigger and brighter than any EVER to come out of Musicdom. I feel this most sincerely with my entire heart. I join countless others begging for more, more, MORE of David Cook!

I liked your performer of lie i like that song .

!!!

The performance took my breath away! I was mesmerized for the entire performance and have rewatched it at least 5 times! I was so disappointed the show did not obtain clearance for your duet with Carrie. Why, why, why is LIE not being released as a single? It could be a HUGE HIT! I still don't understand why only 2 singles were released from this spectacular album. I know your fans are just salivating for more ....... we just can't get enough of you David! It is going to be months before your next album is released, so please petition the powers that be! We want LIE to be a single from your album. You are an Amazing gift !!!

I loved your performance of Lie on the Holiday Special (which included little holilday music and more hee haw skits than I care to remember) I could listen to you sing all day & night but why was the band shoved off to the side and did Carrie sabatoge your hair? Still sending lots of love - Meredith

The song was amazing (no surprise there), but who ever did his hair and make up needs a new job. To get myself to look at the glass as half full, I choose to believe that they wanted us to focus on his amazing voice and set up of the song, so they ignored the hair. Love ya anyway you look Dave!
