This song is beautiful. I cry everytime I listen to it. My grandmother battled cancer for a year before she passed away this morning. This song is just amazing and I'm going to use it for my college's Luminaria Ceremony at our Relay for Life in April. I hope news to come about Adam's condition is none other than good news. You, your brother and your family are in my prayers.

God Bless.

Aww

Well, when I heard the first ten seconds of that song, it made me cry. Reading that just now made me cry again! Gosh, you're such a sweetheart David. It's nice to see an artist put that much heart in a song. I can't wait to hear the whole thing! It's probably going to be my favorite song, even though I'll cry when I hear it. Smiling

Cookie Rocks My Socks Off!!!

I have never found an artist that puts so much of himself into a song. This song has no metaphors and figurative language. David says exactly how he feels. He puts so much raw emotion into this song that he cried. I know we've seen him cry before, but I feel this is something different. This song is his own. I can't wait to hear the full versions of this and all of his songs.

It's my declaration to anyone who's listening
You're my inspiration
As I stand alone against the world

Google: Glamour Women of the Year Awards 2008, David just appeared there singing and handing out an award. Hillary Clinton is a fan!!

Go to the events section of this website to see his upcoming scheduled TV appearances.

Google David Cook, go to the Blog Posts to find his Radio Interviews from this week.

Enjoy!!!!!!!!

Anything written straight from the heart without the slightest doubt, is always going to be appreciated. Ever since I first heard David talk about it... I know it is destined to be a favorite and not just mine but for everyone. This song will leave it's trail and will be loved for years to come.

the first time i read the lyrics to this song i started crying. It reminds me of the song AC from The story thus far. so sad. D: *bursts into tears*

The first time I heard the snippet from the album...Permanent made me choke up. Then I got to read the lyrics...that made me cry. The song is a beautiful tribute to Adam, and I pray for the best for him. The vocals on this track are AWESOME. This is DC at his best.

When you need to draw some strength about your brothers illness and life - there is a song by a Christian group - Mercy Me - I CAN ONLY IMAGINE - im sure you have probably heard it - its awesome and it does make me happy in a weird sort of way - but your brother is still with you and that is your strength - just enjoy it....

I can remember that pushing back those hot tears - and the burning in the back of my throat when my brother was diagnosed with a brain tumor - also - its not a pleasant experience - just know that you have support - alot of time that does help either - but in time things get easier - and i cant wait for this cd - maybe i will get out the kleenex and cry again like i havent since you won idol - crying is not an easy thing for me - but you make it happen for me and thats good - hang in there champ...

Dear David,
I can't wait to hear the song and the rest of the whole album. I am sure I will cry too when I hear the song and probably everytime I hear the song I will tear up knowing your dedication to your brother. You are AMAZING!

David Cook Is My Midlife Crisis!! WN#1869

Dear David, you said you wanted to make a record that would have meaning and would be remembered for a long time. How will you ever perform this song when you go on tour? I am sure you will have all your fans crying right along with you. Not only do we fans have the ideal American Idol, it also seems that you have some of the most caring, devoted fans anyone could want. We know what a special person you are. We saw your heart-felt tears. When you feel, David, we feel. It's a unity of understanding. I have lost several close members of my family to this disease. I have, through surgery, won my own battle with cancer. I am one of the lucky ones.

A pastoral counselor once told me that prayer is our "radical response to life." It's a tool to help us deal with the pain that we all have to endure in this life at some time. I believe this song is your prayer--your radical response to life--for your brother. I hope it gives you strength knowing that your fans are praying right along with you. I also believe, through your voice and music, you will have definitely given us a song that will be remembered for a long time.
Love,
Kathleen

Awww.... (((((David)))))....can't wait to hear it!!!!

The fact that the thought of this song and David's love for his brother brought tears to my eyes just makes me wonder what will happen when I actually hear the song! Beautiful!

Hi DAVID!

This song Permanent is soooo beautiful. I'm a big fan of rock music but I love songs played on piano and accompanied by an orchestra. This is definitely going to be my favorite!! And if you are the one playing the piano that's going to be not only pleasing to the ears but also to the eyes!! What a video that would make!

I sure hope you get to showcase this song in some very special way when you introduce it to the public. All of us fans that buy the CD will hear it right away and fall in love with it. But, it definitely deserves to be introduced through a live performance on TV.

Best Wishes to you next week! All of your fans are running out of patience waiting to buy your CD. I just know it's going to be on the top of the charts in no time!!

I can't wait to hear the entire song. I am sure that it is amazing and I will probably be crying right along with everyone else! The whole article was so very touching.

Seriously, the clip of Permanent I've heard is so haunting and beautiful! I just have visions of myself listening the the CD, curled up in a ball on the floor, kleenex in one hand...Cookie in the other!

Guh!!

thats such a great thing to do to write a touching song dedicated to your brother and show it to the world. and isn't A Daily AntheM for david's brother too. btw I found out why the M is capitalized..because david figured out that if he capitalized the A-D-A-M it spells adam, for his brother.

David that is so sweet. You are a very strong and loving individual to express such an emotional song about your bother and his battle. From what I have read and heard this is a beautiful song and I can’t wait to hear it. I already think it is going to be my favourite. We truly need more people like you in the world, your such an amazing guy, your brother must be proud.
You, Adam and your family are always in my thoughts.

David
I wish you could understand what you do for people when you show everyone how sensitive and vulnerable you are whether you are writing music or performing it!. If you could be on this side of the stage when you sing I think you might be able to "get it". You are an inspiration to all of your fans.
You truly have a gift, that is how I see it.. You know we all love the way you cry so easily. That also is part of your gift to us. I always pray for Adam, Your family, and You . Love franniewessel

I laugh at myself while the tears roll down....

I thought the song AC from Axium was and still is excellent but this song PERMANENT is a MASTERPIECE. I can relate to David because cancer has and still is hitting hard my family. This shows that you can use your talent in difficult moments and come out with something beautiful to share with humanity. Please, David, never change, your talent is a gift from God, use it well. *i know you'll do it*

Wow

Yeah, I can't wait to hear that song. I know it will be very emotional. Thanks for sharing something so personal.

...You can find it at:

www.standup2cancer.org/sutv?vid=5&vd.=2995

But, then you have to do more clicking

Click on the tiny red box that says "After Hours." It is on your right near the top of the page.

Then click on a box that says 'MORE FROM THE SHOW"

Then you get a grey box that lists celebrities. Click on "David Cook PSA."

He talks about Adam. It is very convincing. And, the site still appears to be taking donations. I also saw a thread or two under forums on this Davidcookofficial website for groups of David's fans who organized donation efforts for StandUp2Cancer as well.

David-From hearing the 30 second clips of the songs on the new album, while the songs all sound amazing there is something different in your voice on Permanent. We can feel your emmotion so strongly. Aside from the fact that you truly are an amazing musician your family must be so proud of the truly amazing person you are. You have the soul of an angel. I am so proud of you and what you beleive in. I am so proud to be a David Cook fan.

David -- we hate this disease as much as you do, and we're with you in the fight, for as long as it takes, so ... keep at us about giving back, OK? With your musical choices, and with your other choices. We're there at the ACS, at SU2C, at the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society, and other places. Just aim us once in a while. I think that's part of your purpose, kwim?

Praying every day for complete healing for Adam, for Luke, for Lindsay Rose -- as always. Vaya con dios.

David, One can tell you love wholeheartedly, whether it be family, friends or music. What a gift to Adam to have a song such as "Permanent" dedicated to him. I am so looking forward to hearing this song on the album, but more so it being performed in concert. Adam and everyone one else dealing with cancer are often in my thoughts and prayers.
