Declaration is amazing David! The lyrics and music on Declaration just blew my mind... and you performed it amazingly! I am so pumped to hear the rest of the songs in their entirety (the 30 second tid-bits of the songs sound awesome ... especially Life on the Moon, Avalanche, Permanent, A Daily AntheM.... hell, all of them sound really great!) I think I'll buy 2 CDs for when the first wears out from listening to it too much.
Keep on rockin! We all love you and really appreciate all you do for your fans!
Overall the performance was good, but.....while it is great to include everyone in the band in the song, you need to tone down the electric guitars a little. There were times I could not even here David's voice singing the lyrics because they were so loud. They should never run over the singing that bad. Also, I agree with the others a bit, the drummer was a little distracting, but it didn't bother me as bad as the guitars running wild over a wonderful song.
Didn't think I could love you - and your music - more but Declaration is simply UNBELIEVABLE!! It is melodic and you sang it with so much passion. You've done a fantastic job; we are incredibly proud of you, David!
Can't wait for your album to drop on the 18th!

Declaration was BADASS! The Band totally spent all their time practicing on this song, didn't they?
The drums on this song were great, as well as the vocal and guitar mix.
I don't know if it was the sound mix, but I felt Light On needed a harder drum and less guitar. It was pretty damn good, but, with a little more practice, I know it will be great. So get to practicing!!!
The SNL performance revealed that "Declaration" is a fantastic song. How soon can get it out on radio, Itunes, etc as a single? I'd love to hear "Declaration" blasting away on the airwaves! Are you going to do a video for it?

Saturday night's gig was pure unperfect perfection.... you & the new band ROCKED!!!! LOVED the drummer's head thumping btw .... 2 cool!!!! THAT'S how it's done!!!! I have to say I've missed seeing David perform each week - he was the ONLY reason to watch Idol this year. So glad he's writing his own material too. Although I swear everything he sings from Idol to now seems to have a personal meaning for me. I met up with an old boyfriend during the last half of Idol, so songs like "Hello" and "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" just made me all mushy inside. We've since parted ways as life just threw him too many curveballs, but "Declaration" really hits home for me. Even though we've parted, the man is still an inspiration to me. So keep up the great song writing David - it really means a lot to all of us.

My favorite part was the build up towards the end when the drummer got really into it and his hair and arms were flying, it was like the song was coming to life. I really enjoyed that.

I just read a few posts and wanted to say that I wasn't one bit distracted by Kyle's hair until people started posting about it. Then when I looked back I could see what they were talking about. But, I have to say he did a great, great job and if that is what it takes to get into the song, go for it. The entire band was phenomenal. Loved Andy's vocals. Loved Neal's guitar solo in Light On. Loved Joey's enthusiasm and sheer joy after the set was over. And, I loved Kyle's hair. They looked and sounded like a rock band and were the perfect complement to DC's voice. Outstanding job in a high pressure situation. Very nicely done.
What can I say. Declaration was all David Cook. It was the perfect song for the voice, for the attitude, for the band. I have listened to it about a hundred times already and can't get enough. Honestly, I love both Declaration and Light On. I am anxious to hear all of Avalanche. It sounds like the one that is mainly violin, guitar, and that unique voice. There isn't one song on the CD that couldn't be a hit if released as a single. I do hope they will release quite a few of these songs as singles. SNL was a triumph!

I loved the performance, however I would agree that the drummer was distracting....GREAT but distracting. The whold band seemed very gifted and the sound was tight......only one suggestion for David...please don't hold onto the microphone with both hands and block your face! That is what we tuned in to see! Well that is not all.... Can't wait for tomorrow...and the 18th....and any news of a U.S. tour......I'm from Kansas City and we are all so proud to call David our hometown boy. Wish I had known about him when he was playing clubs around here. Better later than never though!!!

So this is my 3rd post on this thread alone. I just can't get enough! I've watched the SNL performances an untold # of times - can't even count - and was at work today listening to the mp3 of Declaration over and over again. I'm on such a David Cook high and hope I never come down.
David, you sing with such passion and heart! And the band was superb! Keep it comin'. I could watch the chest/heart thump in Declaration over and over again!! Love you much!
