A Utah TV station recently posted this little interview with him. Check it out below to see him talk about the tour, his acting aspirations, being huge in the Philippines, and his smelly tour bus.
I was reading some of the other entries here, and I was touched in my heart when I read about how David's Permanent was uplifting to someone who was also dealing with a family member who had brain cancer. I really believe David has more talent than he even realizes. His ability to touch people with his lyrics and his voice is something you can't compare with anybody. I still hurt when I think of my brother who died from complications with AIDS years ago. Permanent is a kind of bonding song, one that many people can identify with. I love David Cook.
how u been doing?.. hrd u were sick.. u probably need gallons of water and a whole lot of sleep ( body tends to repairs itself better that way). i hope u're feeling better now. will keep u in prayer. i have reading yr tweets and i hrd you are working on a new album.. thats cool. i love yr first one. i heard that u just bought a piano for the hse and a drumset. may be u could have a mic there too, can have a mini band there ha!.. can i sing with u.. ya right. wishful thinking. i m into christian contemporary music now - coz love to worship. listening to an australian band - paradise worship. they had a music workship in singapore recently. one of the workshops was on singing. learnt a lot though. have to work on my vocals and have many techinques to sing in a way that would not hurt yr thorat. i am still learning to practice. its working/.. hee.. there are head sounds for high notes and chest sounds for lower notes.
i love the radio and playing the itunes from the states (pop section) on my mac in the office where i work. love it when they play yr songs..my job is to design handbooks for schools in singapore.. since i started to work here since last, i have 2 projects that are going to be printed out this month already..HA!!.. tok to about efficiency. my ex boz is really giving me a headache though.. really want to let go and move on.
Best of wishes to yr tour and new album..GOD bLESS U!! and loads of hugss..
Hey David! I read on twitter you were sick.. I hope your feeling better today, and that your throat is indeed coroporating. I certainly hope you didn't catch it while you were here in Montreal. Speaking of Montreal, just wanted to write again "as always in the hopes that you might read these comments" to tell you, The Metropolis, Wow!!! What an amazing show!!!! It's been almost a week and I don't think I've come down yet! I was pretty close to the stage, and I have to say in person your even more adorably handsome (if that's possible) You were just awesome as always! what a great performance, and that amazing voice of yours, oy..... I was so happy you sang Avalanche, it's my favorite song on the album. What I think is great is that you have this wonderful ability to captivate your audience, and draw them in, you are the real deal.. I was captivated the first time I ever saw you perform on SNL last November, and last Friday night was certainly no exception.. And now thanks to the beauty of You Tube I can relive that amazing and wonderful experience anytime I want.... I can't believe that this time last year I didn't even know who you were, I can't emagine it. You make me happy and smile for different reasons everyday so thank you for that.. I would of loved to have met you, but when we came outside it was raining so hard, and we didn't know what time you'd be coming out, my friend was up for it, but my daughter was not down with it, lol. Maybe next time hopefully when you come back... Ok, so I guess that's it. But before I go just in case you weren't sure,,,,I think your Fabulous!!! Take Care, Good Luck on the new album,, Can't Wait! Helen xo ( From Montreal, Quebec, Canada )
Almost a year ago, I was staying with my brother-in-law Terry in the ICU ward of an Albuquerque hospital. He had come to live with us after his Galveston home burned down in Hurricane Ike. We had just found out that his lung cancer returned and were dealing with the emotional aftermath of the news. I read an article in the paper about how you wrote the song Permanent after hearing about your brother's brain cancer diagnosis. I rushed out and bought the album and immediately played the song. It made me cry. The doctor's didn't think Terry would make it to Christmas so we had a big "farewell" Thanksgiving dinner. His oncologist was surprised when we turned up for a January appointment and started another round of chemo. The chemo didn't work and as of June we've been on hospice care.
Your song has sustained me throughout the travails of the past year. I no longer cry but take joy in the sound of your voice and the powerful lyrics. Thank you for this gift. I've never even played the song for Terry but draw strength from it. Now that it's getting hard, I listen to it everytime I'm alone in my car. Because of those lyrics, my husband BJ and I have made sure that Terry is never alone. Throughout his many hospital and ICU stays, either my husband or I have stayed with him. We now have 24/7 nurse's aides sitting with Terry so we can get some sleep but one or both of us is always nearby. And he's never seen me cry although I've never promised him that.
About three weeks ago, Terry had a very bad respiratory episode such that we actually made funeral arrangements. We're going to have a memorial in Carlsbad, NM as well as in Welsh, LA. It is my hope that we will play your song and may even find someone to sing it.
You're my hero, David. Thanks for the gift of your music.
AHH! i was so happy when i heard you were coming to rolla!!! me and my friend were so exited we almost DIED when we saw you walk from your bus to the theater!!!! I cant wait to see you in concert again!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. I LOVED the banter about the lights being hotter than hell!!!!

My husband and I were so excited to see you play at OUR HAPPY PLACE - The Borgata! The venue was phenomenal! You were also! We loved the rockin' vibe and how close we were to the stage (and still not mobbed by the crowd!) We were standing to your left near the VIP section and I really got into my wolf calls! Our plan was to act like we were 25 again - for the whole weekend - even though we are 40. After the show we stayed up all night and played video poker at the BBAR (to avoid the $350 room charge) and then we checked into the lovely COMPED Borgata room at 7am! You made a great weekend perfect!
You looked like you were having a ball! It was great to see you and hear your awesome voice in person! Thank you! Astral
Wait a second... did I just hear that David's coming out with a new album just when he's coming back? YES!!! I'm so excited!!! Now the acting part, I think people would love him even more and more fans will be on DavidCookOfficial!!! But, we will always be the true fans. GO DAVID!!!!

well, why not? I'm sure he'll be able to do it with flying colors as well. Just look at his eyes. They sure can express various emotions. I have been wanting to see him on a big screen. I hope he will also make an effort to get rid of that slight tummy bulge. Hehe. He'll look better if he had muscles and abs instead of fats. David, no offense meant. Anyway, you're still the best fats or no fats. Good luck!
Hey man! been a few months, but I was your crewcheif back in Iraq when you came to play! I handed out all of the pictures you gave, but I forgot to save some for when I got home. But check it out bro, if you DO happen to get this (you said you may if I got on here so we'll see) I need you to hit me up somehow via email (jokerswild03@aol.com) Facebook (same email), Twitter (follow me!). Or on here or whatever. But its about the music we thing we talked about if you can remember, I know it was a semi-hectic time with all that was going on. But yeah dude, if you do get this, hit me up! (I'd rather try to talk to you about it rather than the whole world)
I don´t know how many fans David has in Portugal, but I am one.No matter what you are singging, always sounds great because I´m in love with your voice.
Best wishes, hope to see you in PORTUGAL!!!

Everything you've done to date has been so amazing - winning Idol, making an amazing record, blowing us away with your live shows (hint, hint - would so much love to have a live CD or better yet, live DVD of your concerts). BTW, anyone who says your music is "too pop" or not as good as your pre-Idol stuff and "stop with the AI stuff" has obviously not been following your career and watched your concerts because you blow us away with your talent, the way you change things up all the time - from incredibly ROCKING songs from your current record, amazing covers that to us are even better than the originals, to beautiful ballads.....and all this from your extremely talented songwriting abilities and incredible charisma on a stage. Anything that makes you happy and shares your talent with the world, go for it baby! I think it would be exciting to see you appear on a show, but also a new video would be very exciting.....I hope you'll always put your music first though because you were obviously born to be a ROCK STAR!! You have no idea how exciting it is to watch you rocking out on stage and it's obvious that you love it - keep on doing what you're doing, you're going to be huge like your idols Springsteen, U2, etc.
Love you.....Kelly - your #1 fan in Maine!
