Sorry for the long post- but it was MY FIRST CONCERT. So please indulge me

Concert was amazing. The video/pix police were out in full force, so not many mementos, but many people did grab footage. In the interim, a few highlights:

RYAN STAR
- Ryan Star's serenade to David in TOML was hilarious. Ryan called Dave out and asked him to take a seat while he sang to him in appreciation. Dave got restless halfway through and got up to play the drums. funny.
- Lots of guys in the audience (escorts). Ryan called them out early. It's good to see.
- Ryan's performance was fun and entertaining. I'm a new fan. (more on that later)

DAVID COOK
- A little drama in the audience before David came on. So am guessing that's why the concert didn't start exactly on time. Security was out in full force. Don't want to speculate what it was about.
- Concert venue was large and not filled to the rear; odd and vast spacing between rows and stage. So of course, we started moving up to fill in. My real seat was 8-9 rows back, but I inched up to the 3rd row as folks rushed to fill in. I could see the entire stage and was dead center. gush.
- What's up with Dave and wanting us to scream and be loud on command. Control issues? J/K. And per my prior post, I am not Dublin. I refuse to scream, be loud and stand on your demand (well, maybe just this once). LOL.
- TWIK- have loved this song since he first performed it that fateful night. I must say, Dave sounds exactly like I thought he would. Da Voice is strong, pure and clear. Not the best singer on AI, my a??. Lub him.
- Lie. Whew. My favorite. He nailed it. It was quiet. We were respectful. He didn't do the pause like he normally does. Think he realizes we are just mesmerized by Da Voice. I just stood there, heart hands, swaying. Whew.
- HFT- Neal's dad was in the audience (Dave said he's surrounded by women, and made some snarky comment). Also got the story of how Neal hurt his finger. He called Dave over the vacation to tell him. Dave was sad b/c he likes HFT and is glad Neal is healed and HFT is back in rotation. The boys rocked it.
- Artie (I think that's his name) coming out in a towel and stripping was a bizarre, but entertaining part of the show. Seriously, duct tape and briefs? It was beyond words. Poor David was flummoxed. The banter after the song/striptease was hilarious. Dave had to shake it off. Joey suggested he just play a song instead of talking. HA! Concerts getting wilder and stranger. It's clear the boys will miss Ryan and his band.
- Joey and Dave doing some word nerd exchanges. Such geeks. Hot geeks, but geeks nonetheless.
- KOTN- Dave said something to the effect of, if you know love, you know sometimes you have to give it the finger. Is there one of these f-bomb/birds a night or something? Whoever she was Dave, she's a moron. Next time, you will find someone special!
- Fun banter about Texas vs. Oklahoma. Poor Texas folks are dying for a concert and this was OK's 3rd concert. Good, but eclectic crowd.

OVERALL- fabulous concert. It met my expectations. Now his voice and the band actually exceeded my expectations.

I have to get up at the crack tmrw for flight back to nyc for bbq and fireworks, but given the antics tonight, I didn't want to leave you guys hanging.

I'll leave you with 2 thoughts.
1. Fun conversation with Ryan Star which i'm glad to recap tmrw for anyone interested. One highlight, he teased me for not knowing some details of the tour, and I thought/said- Dude, I do have a life! LOL.

2. Given my great seat, I got a chance to observe the entire band. They are really great together. Cohesive, yet each member brings something different personality-wise which is fun to see. Am sure this dynamic will deepen as time goes on. Glad they are together. Dave is of course my favorite, but am growing in appreciation of the ENTIRE band. They make our Davey look even more awesome than he already is. Nice job.
