Your first thoughts were my thoughts. The hook isn't immediately sticking with me. This isn't the type of music that I prefer - but I'll still sing and move along to it in the car. I always perk up to "go and get your armor" and "fill up my cup, mazeltov" or "p-p-p-poker face muh muh muh poker face". I am trying to recall the hook now - and all I can come up with is Pink's "I'm not here for your entertainment - you don't really want to mess with me". Perhaps if this goes into power rotation on the radio - I will recall it better.
I do like the beat - and it definitely makes me want to dance. Is that enough to make a song? It would seem to me if that is all it took that everyone would have a hit - because the beat is easy to produce. My only experience with dance music in a crowd is at weddings - and at the weddings I go to - the crowd loves to not just dance but sing the lyrics at the top of their lungs (what can I tell you - I live in Jersey - and that's what we do at weddings). Does this have the lyrics that will inspire the crowd? I don't know.
I imagine the single sales will be fairly good. You have the idol fans - and it should get Top 40 play - and those singles usually sell. Will it drive people to purchase the whole album - again I have to admit - I don't know.
I guess with all my "don't knows" - that I haven't added much to the discussion. It will be interesting to watch.
