A Long Blog Deserves A Long Reply

Well Coolie, at least you got to see the entire show! My drive to Phoenix from L.A. turned out to be one big nightmare... traffic, unexpected construction slowdowns, getting lost, forgetting about the one hour time difference, etc.

I had to pick up some documents (for work) from the east side of town by 6:00 pm, so I thought I'd have plenty of time to do that, get to the hotel and change and then to the show before 8:00 (when David was supposed to go on). But everything conspired to make it one big FAIL, so I ended up getting there just before the encore. I only got one very bad picture. My seat was 5th row, but was as far away from stage as I've ever been. That was concert #7 for me and it was definitely #7 on my list!

The only good thing about the whole experience was seeing some of the great fans I had met before and meeting a couple new ones after the show. Unfortunately, I didn't get to meet you since you had to leave right afterward. I did get to say hi to Angie, Jenney, the 3 Sherries, Toni and her Swedish charges, and others whose names I'm forgetting (but not faces!) And I had a great time hanging out & talking with glazecrazy after the show. Concert-wise, I'm really looking forward to a much different experience in Friant next week for #8, then #9 & 10 at Pechanga.

Now, to address your impression of Andy. I really can't comment on his demeanor that night because I was on Neal's side and too far away to even read body language lol, but I can say I got a chance to meet both Andy and Neal (and Joey) last Friday at the Viper Room, and I was just struck by how very nice and personable they are. Andy was so sweet when I told him my friend Theresa loves him and would just die to meet him. He immediately said, "Where is she? Let's go meet her!" So I took him over to where she was and of course she about died when she turned and saw him standing there! He was so accommodating and took pics with both of us and just was so amused when she didn't want to let go of his hand! So, as someone else has already suggested, if something was wrong, it must have been health related or possibly something personal that had just happened, because after meeting him I just can't imagine him deliberately not engaging his fans .
