My life as a Lemming

Now I know how a lemming feels when they fall off that cliff, just because the leader says so. I have fallen off a cliff, because our fearless leader said - follow me. I am a lemming that now twits. I am pretty sure I am a twit for signing up for Twitdom. I have no clue how to twit. I don't want to twit. If my DD's and DH knew that I signed up for Twitter to follow David Cook, I am pretty sure I know what they would call me - you guessed it - A TWIT. If I follow my DD on twitter, she will probably figure out why I am there, so I can't add her. No one in my life knows of my obsession.

Hey, Billie Jean, its our 1st Anniversary

One year ago tonight, the world I knew changed. David sang Billie Jean, and nothing would be the same again. All right now, I had enjoyed Hello immensely, and Eleanor Rigby and I were very happy together, but I didn't enjoy the day trip we took together....all right, I will stop now.

Why I'm a Fan

I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...

It's all about the voice. Hearing him hit the sustained background vocals near the end of The Truth is what did it for me. Billie Jean too. The versatility to go from Creep to Music of the Night to The World I Know is amazing. I like his speaking voice too.

Of course, the lips, the neat little nose (even with a sharpie up it), the arching of the eyebrow, the laugh, the scruff, the arms, and even the Giant Eyeball, none of this hurts either.

He's real, not plastic like so many of the manufactured singers on our radios today. He laughs a lot, he cries, he gets annoyed, nervous, maybe even scared. He's smart.

I think he is both a ladies man, and a man's man, charismatic, yet a goof at times.

It has been a long time since a singer caught my attention, to the point where I am posting on his website. Is there a DCAnon? Not that I would go! I don't have a problem! Dinner? Why do you want to eat today? Clean underwear? Just don't get in an accident! Dog hair? It hides the rip in the couch.

ETA: I wrote the top part last fall. Since then, this man has done nothing to convince me that America was wrong to vote for him. In fact, his strength, courage and love for his brother have made me even more proud of him, and sure that he is destined for great things. He truly is a class act. My heart bleeds for him, and hope that working brings him solace. God bless you David, and your family.
