Great review, I love that you name-checked Dave to him.
Can you tell us how big this audience was, and (as someone else asked) what the ticket price range was, since I gather that you paid extra for the VIP package.

Why I'm a Fan

I'm a fan (and you should be too) because Dave has...
1) The Voice (that's how I think of it). Range, power, phrasing, flexibility, and some mysterious quality that transmits emotion directly from his heart and soul to his listeners. This would be enough to make me a fan even if I had never seen Dave.
2) Performance skills. Uses the whole stage, engages the entire audience. He's one of those performers who electrifies audiences and draws every eye to him.
3) Intelligence and sense of humor . What can I say? Humor and intelligence are the most attractive human qualities there are, IMO.
4) The virtues of a Boy Scout: he's courteous, brave, kind, loyal, helpful, friendly, clean(ish), probably thrifty, too.
5) Great songwriting ability. Since we have yet to see the 2008 version of Dave's songwriting, I'm going to put his songwriting skills down here. I think this category may end up at 3).
ETA: Well, we haven't really seen much of HIS current songwriting yet. (Too many co-writers on DCTR, and no way of knowing what part he had in the process: lyrics, music, both?). However, based on Kiss on the Neck, I'm guessing that his skills are evolving considerably. There isn't anything as lively as KotN on Analog Heart.
6) A great face. Just look at my avi!
7) The rest of him, which isn't bad either. Looks good dressed up or down.
