I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...aside from phenomenal talent; David is a truly kind, generous and caring person. I was hooked at his audition. We even talked about him at work the next day. During Hollywood week my son (7 years) saw him and said "He's nice, he's my friend" and he hadn't even heard him sing yet! My husband and I have always frowned on our children having celebrities as role models. We have always preferred that they have "Real Life" heroes and role models. My son, however, has chosen David. I was all for it! My husband (who does not watch AI) was not happy. He started watching and started seeing the kind of person David is. He also enjoyed David's talent. After AI and during the tour, my son would tell him about how nice David was to everyone. Finally, my husband conceded that my son had picked a "Real Life" hero and said "Our boy picked a good one". David proved that when my son met him in CT on Sept. 6th. He made my son feel so very special! He picked him up and took him behind the barricade and he and Michael even wore the T-shirts my son gave them as gifts during the Mavid. Although we did not go to the concert that night my friends were there so by the time we woke the next morning we knew. My son was literally speechless (that NEVER happens!) and my husband and I cried. David, being the kind, generous and caring person he is, made my son feel special. He is still smiling and he will always have that memory. This is why we love David in our home. He is very special to us for more than just music. He is a real person that we all consider a role model. We love you David!
