Happy New year! - JANUARY 7, 2009, 2:47 pm
Yesterday was the day of the Tarpon Springs Greek Epiphany. Young men dive in the tepid waters of the bayou and retrieve a cross thrown by the bishop of the church, symbolizing the baptism of Jesus. The boy who retrieves the cross receives forgiveness of his sins and a years worth of good luck. Many men who have retrieved the cross in the passed say they have received a life time of good luck.

I am glad things are going well for you, David, and that you have not lost your sense of humor. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you. With this holiday cheer, I am planning our family vacation. My husband and I are planing on letting our two children bring a friend along on vacation this year. One of my daughter's best friends lost her father from cancer when she was only in second grade. Her faith was destroyed that year and every year since. She says that she does not believe in Santa anymore. She is now 14 and we are trying to renew her faith, as you have renewed mine.

As a mom of two and out of the workforce for some time, my kids are much more technically savvy than I am. I am thinking of taking some computer courses to get up to speed. My husband is the true computer guru and it is a bit embarrassing that I am not. I only recently created a myspace, to keep up with the kids on-line.

It is hard to choose just one. On any given day, different songs speak to me depending on my mood and frame of mind. The raw emotion is what draws me most to David's songs. We all have good days and bad days. Today, my son is sick. No one likes to have anyone ill even if it is not life-threatening. I think about Adan a lot and pray that he is healed through some miracle of modern medicine and a little faith. Some days, I just skip over Permanent all together, because it is just to much emotion to bear. But, then and again, I come back to it to remind me that life is so precious.
