I just wanted to share bits from an article I read in a magazine. The title is "the low-self-esteem guide to sucess" by Dale Dauten.
He quotes Jay Leno "I'm a great believer in low self-esteem...I assume everyone is better than I am and smarter than I am and if you go into the world with that assumption, you'll do fine" Leno describes how he got the guest hosting gig on the tonight show. The other guest hosts wanted $25,000 but Jay asked for $515 which is union scale.

I am not educated in literature, so I never heard of this before, but came across Empson's 7 types of ambiguity. David is a big fan of ambiguity, I believe. Literally and...uh ambiguously. I'm not going to elaborate, but below is the wiki link and the list.

1. The first type of ambiguity is the metaphor, that is, when two things are said to be alike which have different properties. This concept is similar to that of metaphysical conceit.

Just got back from the show in Allegan. (Actually last night) It was my first and only as I live where the David Cook and the Anthemic does not tour. I happened to be about 500 miles from Allegan (for another reason) so took the chance and drove over.

True humility is intelligent self-respect which keeps us from thinking too highly or too meanly of ourselves. It makes us mindful of the nobility God meant us to have. Yet it makes us modest by reminding us how far we have come short of what we can be.

I've been thinking of a general theory of David Cook. I think my conclusion is that what he exhibits most of all is true humility.

DC related? I love the way DC has brightened up my life. My other bf has also shaved years off how old I feel, look and act. Both have been very positive and life-enhancing parts of my life.
