I'm a fan of David Cook because when I first saw him perform on my TV screen my jaw dropped, I did a double take, I said "who the heck is THAT!!" and I remember yelling out the word "Brilliant..." before the judges had said a word. I hit my Tivo replay button about 10 times after he sang. The song was Billie Jean, which is the first week I watched AI this year. The ensuing weeks just captured more of my attention and after "Music Of The Night" I was left in awe by the magnetic presence of someone I saw as purposely special beyond this talent show. Emerging was a blossoming star that not only "gets it" from a musical standpoint, he feels it, interprets it and exudes it from his soul..there isnt an ounce of pretending or pandering. What a rarity. And what a rarity that we have a guy who actually understands music on a generational basis and can do justice to just about anything over the last 50yrs and do it well. He's been grounded well in many flavors and I respect that.

He brings pictures to life through lyrical poetry with an empassioned delivery that can never be taught; only envisioned.

Bottom line..David Cook is my magic, and I need magic in my life
