  • It really was a great night. And Phil (not surprisingly) won over quite a few new fans. According to my friend Scott's wife, he didn't stop talking about it all week. And the CD never left his car's player.

And, it wasn't so much the dancing mole that was amusing, but my friends who decided to do the two-step out of the way mid-song.

ETA: I just watched one of the videos again, and you can even hear the train down the street. Planes, Trains, and buzz saws is what I should have called this recap : ) Thanks for readin'!

  • Friday, June 11, 2010 – A day unlike any other

Through a series of half-joking inquiries and increasingly high hopes, it came to be that Phil Marshall would be driving himself to North Olmsted and playing a concert in the back yard of my childhood home. Yeah, I freaked out.

  • Loved the whole thing - LOVED IT! But this part?: Andrew: Well, it was nice of you to come, but Dave's got to go to bed. He's got an early tee time.
    Scott: %#@&

Yeah, can't stop laughing. I needed that - thanks!

You make me smile like the sun, fall out of bed, sing like a bird, dizzy in my head...

  • Hi cinmc! I remember the song like it was yesterday - it was Music of the Night. The studio version. I believe my exact words were "holy crap - I have shivers. Who is this guy?" Hook, line, and sinker... And then I roamed the internet aimlessly until I found DCO, and the rest is a blur of good music and funny, thoughful, smart, generous people. The kid may just have me for life Smiling

  • I wanna play… OK, percentages:

45% is the voice. Before I saw what he looked like or knew who he was, his voice grabbed me and has yet to let go. I didn’t watch Idol and a friend had me listen to one of the songs she had downloaded. Only after the hair on the back of my neck stood up did she tell me that this was the guy who had just won American Idol. And that was the beginning, and the voice still gets me every time.

  • Fred: We'll clap. So if you only hear one person, it was me.
David: Perfect. Yeah yeah, I'll know you liked it.
Fred: I don't think you'll have to worry
    David: (cuteness overload) yeah

This part, in particular, makes me want to get an I-Phone. I will resist the urge, I will resist the urge...

Thanks for taking the time to write this up. I appreciate it!!
