    on Major Award for "The Time of My Life"

    A huge Congratulation to Regie Hamm, the writer of "The Time of my Life" and to David Cook, for bringing the song alive with his unforgettable vocals. I think from the moment we saw David singing this song after he won American Idol we, indeed, felt we were all a part of The Time of his Life...I feel a huge part of this song's success has been that David Cook sang it.
    I really like this song and have from the first moment I heard it. I am so glad to see it get the recognition it is so deserving of receiving.

    Sometimes my thoughts break and scatter
    I try to hold on to them a little bit tighter

    The grip I try to maintain slips
    I feel the beat of my heart as it skips

    It makes me wonder every single time
    About reason and most definitely the rhyme

    Some things make no sense
    I wonder who will stand up in my defense?

    As the thoughts trip through my mind
    Like a movie played on rewind

    I close my eyes and wish it gone
    But the memory on which they're drawn

    Teasing, tempting, taunting
    Beckoning and haunting

    When I turn and find there is no place to escape

    Feeling the weight, unable to get up, crying out, God, please...

    Is this the time to turn to prayer?
    Let Him know life is so unfair

    Your heart aches so much you can't feel your own heart beat
    Numb from your head to your feet

    The tears that escape and begin to fall
    Haven't you already given your all?

    Down in the deep dark
    No longer moving forward you idle in park

    Searching, searching but unable to find
    Emotions so thick they capture and bind

    Battered and bruised your heart aches
    It shatters as it breaks

    I always believe that people come into your life for a reason
    Sometimes they only stay for a season

    They are there to fill a need
    Maybe our case to plead

    In our memory of times that have passed
    Moments recalled as their life trespassed

    We can only thank our lucky stars

    To the One who saw our need and sent us a friend
    It truly does from this world transcend

    They've peaked into our soul, healed a broken heart
