This year I was able to watch some of American Idol when I wasn't busy with school and, somewhere along the way,I became absolutely captivated by David Cook. At first, I didn’t think he’d get very far. I know that sounds wrong, but… The thing was, he was very talented and delivered every single week, but he wasn’t as memorable as the others for some reason. He didn’t have Jason Castro’s dreadlocks, Brooke White’s bohemian vibe or David Archuleta’s adolescence. One thing that did stick with me, though, was that in the very first official show the contestants did, he referred to himself as a “word nerd” (to Simon’s utter disgust) and revealed that he very much enjoyed crossword puzzles and the like. The judges thought it was lame, but come on, how cute is that?! Being somewhat of a word nerd myself, I thought it was sweet. He was also told many times by the judges that he was arrogant, but I’m still not exactly sure why. He was certainly quieter than most of the others, but I don’t think he was arrogant. Anyway, at some point he acquired the X-factor. I think the defining moment for me was when he sang the cover of “Billie Jean.” His performance totally blew me away. After that, I always looked forward to his performances and liked him more every time I saw him. Not only was he ridiculously talented, he had a wonderful personality. He was always super charming, funny & sweet. In the finale, as much as I loved David Archuleta too, I was really rooting for David Cook. I was sure David A. would win after what the judges said, but couldn’t have been happier when David C. was announced the winner.

I really wish I could have watched all his AI performances when they came on!! I was so busy at the time. I've watched all of them on YouTube now and surely would have fallen for him a lot sooner & a lot harder if I had. The point is, I can't get enough of David now. I'm a huge fan now & forever. Love you David!!!
