Dear David,

Please accept my sympathy on the loss of your brother. I, like many others have lost family members to cancer and it is a cruel and devastating disease. Hopefully, there will be some comfort in knowing that people truly understand and empathize with your grief.

I just want to say what a true inspiration it was that you , despite your grief, were able to come out and not only participate in the race, but make a speech to your thousands of fans who were there to support you in this great cause.
