I'm a fan from the UK. When I stumbled along the new series of AI7 on ITV2 I thought I would give it a go after being impressed by Kelly Clarkson and Chris Daughtry. One of the first contestants I saw was a young man singing one of my favourite songs 'Everything I do, I do it for you' willing him to reach the high notes, when he did I decided that this was the guy I was going to follow.
Several weeks later I saw him sing Hello and knew he was something a little bit different. Sitting in my room on Beatles week I watched through covered eyes to see what they would do (being a big Beatles fan myself) I feared the worst only to find sanctuary in a certain Day Tripper. From then on every thursday night was a challenge to see what he would do next.
Then it was time for reality tv to change. It wasn't about who was the prettiest or who had the best sob story like all the english versions do, it was about the voice (oh, and also the cute haircut in Dolly Parton week, fyi)
Since his win, that's when I really embraced the world of David Cook and became a true fan, I was introduced to Analog Heart, Axium, Midwest Kings, To Have Heroes and Andrew Cook, none of these I would of known before David.
He also helped me through my own personal battle I had when I found out my dad had the early stages of Cancer, I would watch from the sidelines feeling sympathy but never really understanding what it was like. Thankfully my dad is clear and because of all the brilliant DC fans out there and the money they've raised more people will be cured I'm sure.
David carries himself both professionally and personally as a kind, caring and compassionate man who was clearly well brought up. As a musician myself I can understand the relaxation and accomplishment of singing and what it does for your soul. David's poetry with words is outstanding and one day I hope he will hop over to little old England and we can show him Abbey Road and the Beatles experience which I'm sure he will enjoy, and maybe even hear himself in the shop I work in as I've been playing his music for weeks.
Thank you for showing us a real musician, this is only the beginning...
Here's a little something I made for you :

i love it
Thanks for the recap Kaz, you obviously had an amazing time, i giggled at what you told Phil 'Dave's not coming here anytime soon' haha, to get to the front is amazing and to witness lie acapella must of been beautiful. I feel like all 4 of us that have gone over from England have got 4 different experiences which is really cool. Glad to see you showing some british love, i'm from the same area as Phil but don't have the accent so no wonder Dave can't understand it, it's broad yorkshire, haha
Here's to another trip in the future, love the pictures
