With the recent sad news that the Georgia Theatre has burned down, I decided to go ahead and post the review that never quite got done. Early on, before I'd even heard DCTR, I identified two Georgia venues that I wanted to see DC at: the Variety Playhouse in Atlanta and the Georgia Theatre in Athens. The Georgia Theatre was this wonderful club, which started out life as an actual movie theatre, but morphed into a club years ago. The Georgia Theatre was an important venue in the history of REM and the B52s, among so many other bands.

It used to be that we had access to Mediabase Quickcuts for all of DC's songs. In relation to an Idol Chatter column, I pulled out the following data from the Quickcuts for spins for DC songs, as of 1/10/2009:

Yes, there is an Idol Chatter post about mediabase play. It makes the great point that DC's number of spins (he says 204,000 spins) are just spanking the other Season 12'ers (led by DA at 105,000)....

My recap: Lie was unbelievably gorgeous. The end.
Oops. I guess some other stuff happened as well. Might as well recap the rest of it.
The theatre was a bit warm, but otherwise a surprisingly good site for a concert. I went with my sister-in-law (SIL), who liked DC on Idol but hasn't listened to his music since. My eight-year-old niece was intensely bitter that she did not get to go. I'm not sure if that was on general principle, or if she'd heard his music on Radio Disney, but it was pretty hilarious.
Me: I'm going to a concert tonight with your mother.

Two suggestions....
Well, one drink idea for Zenny: Long Island Green Tea.
Just make sure not to make the green tea too bitter---Zenny may be potent, but he is never bitter. Ommmmmmmmm.
Serve it in a platinum-rimmed iced tea glass.
