I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...he is an amazing musician and person. His music and especially his voice deeply touches my heart and soul. David takes such care in the delivery of the words in each song that you can understand and feel the emotions and meanings. His vocals have the power to both soothe and energize. There is also something mysterious about the resonance and tonal qualities of his voice that get to me--I can't explain why. I have found that his music commands my attention. I cannot listen to his music passively. I must listen with open heart, ears, and mind each time even if I have heard the same song 500 times.

I am also a fan of David Cook because he is such a compassionate person. As I watched him week after week on American Idol and watched his interactions between the AI band, the judges, and his fellow contestants, I realized that he was a kind and compassionate person with much gratitude for the opportunity to be on the show. The one thing that impressed me the most was the way he cared about Lindsey Rose. The story of the orange bracelet that he wore week after week for Lindsey Rose earned his loyalty from me forever. By wearing that orange bracelet, he showed Lindsey Rose and the world that a total stranger can care and make a difference.
