Like a lot of you, I watched the entire AI season and thought David had something very special from the start. As I watched and learned more about him, I was blown away. I see so much of David in me and I see so much of me in David. I’m reserved and shy unless I’m around close friends and family. I had a very painful childhood. I’m a word nerd and I love word games and puzzles (although I don’t like sesquipedalian words…work THAT into your banter, David!). I care deeply about people, even if they don’t care back. I see kindness, humility, decency and respect as basic human qualities that everyone should have, not just the rare individual. He is a role model for my boys. I cry over things that others take lightly and the list goes on. I am driven by my heart and soul, which brings me to my favorite word in the entire dictionary: "passion".

It’s what makes the world go 'round. It’s what drives the good in this world and it’s what drives the bad in this world. It’s what takes you to your highest highs and lowest lows. Life isn’t worth living without it. Passion is what drives me and keeps me loving life. Passion is what made me sob along with David after he sang The World I Know.

I’m hopelessly in love with whatever it is in David that makes him make the music that makes me feel the way I do (whew!). I know it has everything to do with my favorite word. That’s why he cries, that’s why I cry. He feels things so very deeply, just as I do. He expresses this through his music (even through covers) and that’s why he has touched so many of us worldwide. He hasn’t just given music back to many of us, he has reignited our passion through sharing his, on so many levels and for so many things. He's passionate about the right things and is an inspiration to millions.

And his voice…what was the quote? “If sex could sing, it would sound like him.” This is so true, but it’s the passion that his voice exudes that really gets to me, regardless of the song. Anything less than the voice he’s been blessed with wouldn’t do his depth of passion justice. He’s a walking heart and soul with an excruciatingly beautiful sound. The only way I can describe the way he makes me feel is euphoric, and he must’ve felt and seen that in Columbus because he walked over and sang to me. I was on Cookaine that night and I couldn't sleep for three days afterward.

I don’t post smut out of respect for David, but mostly for Beth. I’m not dissing or judging anyone as I do believe in freedom of speech, but it’s just not my thing. I'm grateful to Beth for giving the world her son, and I wanted to reach into my TV and hug her on finale night. Her life will never be the same, along with his. She's undoubtedly beyond ecstatic, but like us, she'll frequently have to see her son from afar and for that my heart goes out to her. On the WN board I made a request to be "The Keeper of David's Karma". It may seem silly to some, but I don't take the request lightly. I've never wished for happiness to come to someone I don't even know as much as I do for him. He is truly a gift from God to all of us and in the rock world of crazies, David is a phenomenal anomaly.
