I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...for four months I was enthralled by his voice, look, performance, and over all good persona. He is the son every mother would like to have and maybe does. David has struggled with life as many of us have and is not only surviving but is an example for all of us to persevere in face of adversity. I have watched American Idol for four years and I have always loved it but there was something about this season that made me vote for the first time. What a great season. I was hooked on David Cook when he auditioned to the song of Brian Adams, "Everything I do". I could not believe Simon was unimpressed with David's singing. I thought it was beautiful. Every week I looked forward to what David would sing and how he would perform it. I was never disappointed. There was alot of talent this season but the only contestant that I was wowed by was David Cook. As others have said, when he performed I felt like I was at a concert. Many times I cried because I was so moved by the song and his singing. I can't finish writing before I mention how his humor was through the season. He was funny. The Ford car commercials were great. He had a great personality and leadership qualities with all the other Idols and it showed through when he was with them. When someone left the show he was many times the first to hug them. They were his family and it showed. David Cook is not afraid to be sensitive and show emotions. How great is that. How refreshing. He also doesn't put on aires and is the same every time I see him in the media. I guess you can tell there isn't much I don't like about David. Can't wait for his Album and Concerts.
