A coin...fire...it's all good as long as it rocks hard, or gently...whichever will do.

Bottom line for me is that this was work disguised as a social visit. And no, I don't think Dave and the guys really had a choice to leave early. I'm sure they were asked to commit to a certain amount of time. It sounded unbearably awkward for Dave and I hope he never has to do it again. It was like an extended interview with a backdrop of a house with guests, wine, foosball, pizza, beer pong. No way could he just act naturally with all these cameras watching his every move and thousands of people watching in.

eilonwy, See, I don't really see chaos and attacking. Well, no more than can be expected from a wild and raucous rockin fanbase, which Dave has. There is no need or desire for controlled behavior, just as one doesn't want to see that at a great rock concert. Besides which, the agitation is a direct result of Dave working with pop writers who have very little connection to the world of rock. Any rock fanbase would respond similarly. Do you really think Chris Cornell's fanbase was peacefully 'expressing their loyalty' when news spread he was working with Timbaland? Hell to the No!

goodbyetoallthat, The problematic meme you mentioned is primarily a media-driven story, and they do love their stories. You could have 98% of the DC fans on their best behavior and they'd sniff out the 2% that misbehave. There is no amount of 'self-policing' that would prevent the media from keeping that story going. Sure, its one of those cases that Idol exasperates, but its certainly not unique to Idol.

I don't think these issues will harm Dave's career. I don't think its news that some of Dave Cook's fans are crazy. And I would bet you that the more popular you get, the more crazies you attract. I don't think this is unique to David Cook. Whenever you have OTT behavior, its going to come out in all forms, both critical and overly praising. I think its the nature of Twitter and the whole social networking universe, that anonymity provides a cloak that emboldens some folks to say things they would never say directly in person.

Sweet tease
Thanks to everyone who put this together. I love how y'all are giving us glimpses of the process of making this album. And showing us a little of each guy doin' their thing was really special. I also appreciate the cinematography. Great job on this. Keep em comin'!
