Thanks to you and Mr. RMH for this entertaining, witty and comprehensive recap! Mr. RMH is such a good sport for humoring you (and us, LOL) with our DC obsession. This is more admirable given the tough times the service men and women and their families must be going through. Hope David's music can help distract and comfort as many of them as possible. You know what they say, "Music is food for the soul".

Why I'm a Fan

I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...

Ok, I've been pondering this message for a few days, and let me tell you, when you've been a fan from the beginning of AI 7 (not that I've known about David before AI, unfortunately), it won't be short LOL!

I put my eyes on David the first time he was shown on TV at his audition. I've been an AI follower for 4 years and watched it on and off. I have had my favs, of course, but none of them impressed me as David did.

When I saw him first, I thought "This is an interesting guy" (faux hair and all, LOL). I also liked his answers when Paula and Simon questioned him. But when he opened his mouth to sing, I went WOAH!!! From then on I knew something really special had happened. This guy would be my idol forever.

I'm not young anymore but in spirit and towards music, I'm as addicted as when I was 15. And I can tell you, I never ever have been a "fan" of no one. So this took me absolutely unaware!

His first audition through Hollywood Week and ALL his performances and interviews only strengthened my belief that we were witnessing the rise of a star. David's musical talent, voice, stage presence blew me away. I went in a frenzy looking for his previous albums. But not only that, his caring heart, his sensibility and the appreciation he showed towards his fans and the unique moment he was living, just finished the deal for me. I was and have been officially a David Cook fan. The greatest thing of all is that he won the date of my birthday, May 21st. when I became 50!!! Here I was sitting in front of my computer, thousands of miles away, watching a live feed. All my family surrounding me --well, obliging me, hehe-- to see if my idol would win. And when they announced he was the winner... speechless... No words from a WordNerd?!?! Hehehe. Cannot describe that feeling... I'll just say it was a huge door opening for a truly deserving musician.

Way back during top 24, I became a woman in a mission, LOL. We got together the WordNerds with some AI boards friends, started giving numbers, writing Signal & Sentiments threads, made YouTube videos, MySpace pages, Facebook pages, you name it. And then we created the "Rock the Vote for David Cook" forum which later became the "Home of the Word Nerds".

I cannot tell you how proud I am of David and how happy and accomplished I feel seeing him blossoming as an established artist. His absolute devotion and dedication throughout the tour to give his best both on and off stage spoke loads about him as a performer and as a person.

Now a new phase is starting with his new CD release (can't wait!!!). Be assured we'll be the most faithful and bestest fanbase ever, David. You can always count on us.
