I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...maybe it was the argyle sweater from the Omaha audition (previous east coast conservative, now on the left coast); maybe it's my midwestern roots (born in Des Moines, IA); maybe it's David's love for words (crossword puzzle/sudoku addict due to travel schedule); maybe it's the rough around the edges characteristics (gotta love bartenders with tatoos); maybe it's David's compassion and generosity (had the opportunity to briefly meet David at the KC tour stop - so nice); maybe it's David's ability to raise awareness around important issues (health industry professional); and maybe, just maybe it's David's fantastic ability to sing a song with poignant lyrics that reach in and grab you (this could be it!). So, there really is no one reason why I am a fan of David Cook. I truly believe that through the exposure he received in 2008, he was able to show his diversity and this made many, many people identify with him on some unique level and also appreciate the differences as well.
