I'm a fan (and you should be too) because... David is the first artist, at least in a long while, whose music seems to give voice to things I am going through... or have gone through in my life.

Whether it's lyrics dealing with the untimely loss of a family member... or as with the lyrics from "Silver" (independent release - Analog Heart) of dealing with a feeling of not being enough and coming in second to someone you love... or the sweet and devoted lyrics of "the Truth" (also independent release - Analog Heart) about being finding a love so strong, so powerful, so true it can lift up your heart and soul... they are experiences I think speak to one point or another in most people's lives.

Through his powerful (pitch-perfect) voice and profound lyrics, his songs feel more like a personal conversation with a close friend.

Aside from his obvious talent, and despite his comparative youth, David has managed to navigate this new sea of celebrity with the strength, grace and generosity of someone well beyond his years. His obvious commitment to his family as well as his brother's memory, in such a difficult last year, is more than commendable.

A love of David's music is also happily someone I can share with my 11-year old niece and 13-year-old nephew. David is the definition of what a "role model" should be... someone I can happily point to as an example to my nephew (who happens to be a musician, just like his dad and my husband - his uncle).

There are simply too many positive things to say... so I'll leave it at this:
