  • Everyone finds their own way to grieve. Grieving is important. Make the space, take the time, create the situation so you can grieve in your own way. It's only through the grieving that you come to really know and FEEL how much your brother is still with you...in new and different ways. He will continue to guide you from within your open inner heart. You are an 'old soul', I am sure, and you will know.
And I am sure we will hear his guidance in your music...and it will be beautiful.

  • My favorite shifts as well. Each time I listen to the album (which is a lot when I commute), I pick up something new in one of the songs or they strike a different chord in me depending on the space I am in which influences what I can "hear" in them. I do hope David will continue to record a cross section of song styles which show his range from raw, hard rock to tender, tugging ballad, from what it takes to provide a fresh perspective into Pop classics like Billie Jean or Eleanor Rigby to a contemporary take on a broadway classic like Music of the Night.

  • Mr Cook honors his lyrics. With his voice and music, he brings them to life in a way that can be clearly understood (no garbled lyrics here) and then tells a story with the heart of an old soul. TO me, this is what makes him unique: his versatility to apply a voice that can be both raw or tender, but always passionate, in a variety of styles that speak to our humanity. .. From our common frailty and longings to our joy in being alive and connected. He paints word pictures with his music. My favorites on this album: Heroes, Life On the Moon, and Bar-ba-sol.
