  • Thanks you for taking the time to write this up and to share your story. I loved all the detail in it and I am so glad you were able to put the experience in words. You are very brave to go all the way to the concert and to tell David your story. And yes, please post more, you have a wonderful way with words.

  • Thanks so much for the recap. I really enjoyed all of your details and thoughts. I'm sorry you couldn't enjoy watching Andy this time. I hope you get to see him again soon. I know how disconcerting it is to not have a show for a while and have an unsettled feeling. I hope it gets resolved. Even though I was there I kind of understand what you mean. I *almost* went to this show because it is one of the cheapest and easiest places to get to from Denver but I opted for more of an adventure and vacation with Canada. And I'm already glad I made the switch.

  • Thanks for your thoughts. I saw a Daughtry concert in August, one of the smaller club shows and was curious what the arena show was like. I enjoy Daughtry's music so I can say that I had a great time at his show and if anyone is interested in reading it I put it in a blog on my account here. I was front row in GA at the club so that probably makes a difference translating to a large arena. I noticed there were some differences between David and Daughtry and how he didn't banter much. But I've seen a few concerts this year and the banter ranges wildly between bands.

  • Thanks again for making the blog, there are a lot of good thoughts here. I'm not sure I'd rate FYE higher than you do, as a dance song it gets the job done and as a pop song it isn't annoying in a way you want to change the station, but is it a fantastic song, I'm not so sure. You know, I really don't know why certain pop songs are super successful and others are not. Seems like a lot of it is based on name recognition or the hook has to be totally stick-in-your-brain-drive-you-crazy (Womanizer, I Gotta Feeling) or provocative (like I Kissed a Girl or Don't Trust a Ho).

  • I'm in a curious spot in my musical taste, I'm a lover of rock music, particularly hard rock and not so much soft rock. I really dislike pop music but I love dance music so if song is more in the pop side of life I want it hard hitting, fierce, turned up a couple notches and all that. I prefer most dance remixes of pop songs, seems to elevate the beat and edges to the song. That said, what makes a good pop song for me is the beat, not the hook. The vocals have to be pleasant and not annoying and definitely not too repetitive.

  • I love your blogs, so amazing you got to come all this way and get to talk to David! Thanks so much for sharing your story!
