I'm glad you liked your gifts! As for the books, I just want to say, I hope you didn't actually whack poor Archie with the monumental Signal & Sentiments book - he was already scared of it when he tried to sign it and I snatched it away from him.

THAT's what I'm talkin' about - he knows the single is not a microcosm of the album, it is the bait on the hook to draw you in to deeper waters, with Rob Cavallo masterful at that. Now we just eagerly anticipate the surprising turns he takes us on. It's exciting!

"Light On" is a power ballad, plain and simple. Some people expected David's first real single to be like "Analog Heart", some like what he sang on AI, some like MWK or Axium. Most expected it to be written by David. What we got was a power ballad written by some rock heavy-hitters. Names that lend him rock cred on the double-edged sword that also encourages more comparisons of his song than otherwise might have happened. But I believe at the end of the day, the names will serve him well in getting his foot in the door of people who otherwise would have ignored an AI product.

David, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope time with your family will be healing.
Please don't think any of us are let down because of the cancellations. The opposite is true - we would be let down if you suffered because you were trying to make us happy. I'm sure it hurt you to have to cancel. We understand. We support you 100%. As always.
