I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...well, it's hard to explain. I have a thing for starving artists who appreciate the need for good, emotional, heartwrenching music - and well, David Cook is/was exactly that. Granted, I had no idea who he was before he appeared on American Idol, but that doesn't matter now. When I first noticed him on the show, I researched him and quickly discovered his older music, which I downloaded (GASP! ILLEGALLY?! ) and quickly fell in love with. There was just something about it, it had heart, angst, passion, anxiety - it was his emotion and life rolled up as the person he was before AI fell into his lap, for some reason I made an instant connection to Analog Heart. Now of course, the album is everyone and fans adore it, but I can't help but pride myself on falling for it before David even made it to the top ten, when he still could have disappeared into the darkness..

Well, I'm getting lost here. All I can say is that David fell into my life when I desperately needed something to connect to - after having lost my father just a few months before discovering his music, and later learning that he and his family were going through what my family and I went through for almost three years..well...a bond happens, I guess? It's hard to say I'm connected to stranger, but with something like Analog Heart, well, your heart is on your sleeve my friend, and you've got mine right along side..

However, now I'm gushing and it sounds crazy and messy, so I'm just going to end this. If I couldn't form my thoughts into a letter to him, then getting them together for this little entry is hardly going to happen. He's more than a pretty face, or the title of "Idol" - he's heart, soul and most of all, he's music. It's a twisted, incredble combination and I can't wait to see what happens..
