My heart and prayers are with the Cook Family

Although Adam's battle with cancer ended Saturday May 2nd and not in the way we had all hoped, at least he is no longer suffering. Which of course doesn't make it any easier to lose a loved one, no matter the circumstances. My heart truly goes out to the Cook Family. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Why I'm a Fan

I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...
"This is something that I submitted for a contest over at Cook's Crew."
The first time I heard David sing (audition - 'Living' on a Prayer') I thought wow this guy is good. Each week that I watched him perform was like a breathe of fresh air. I forgot I was watching a "competition" and felt that I was at a concert. You brought music back into my life when I needed it most. For that I will be eternally grateful.
I have David to thank for helping me "get back to life" so to speak. In Jan 2007 I lost my niece Sheena to a prescription overdose. She was only 25 yrs. old. I was dwelling on her death since it was January, a year since we lost her. Then I started watching American Idol for the first time. At first I was like ...hmm not sure I am going to like this. Then there was David. With his wonderful fauxhawk and beautiful voice. Every time he performed it always made me smile a little bit bigger and brighter.
David has also helped me to realize that I have been spending more time "thinking" than actually "doing"!!! I am finally taking charge of my life instead of just being a spectator. I thank David for getting me off my a** and back to living my life. My favorite quote, that I first heard David say on AI is "Enjoy the experience, don’t just experience the experience". It has become my motto and I try to make it a part of my life every day. It sure helps me get thru the day with a lot more enthusiasm. So I thank you, David Cook, for being such a great inspiration to me!!
