  • Grammy process for certain categories as posted on mj's blog

    Someone posted this Grammy timeline at mj's. I'll add ladymadonna's qualifier:
    The process described there relates only to the General Field categories (Best New Artist and Record, Song, and Album of the Year). There is no blue ribbon committee review of the genre field categories before nominations are announced - the top five vote getters in those categories automatically get nominations.

    Initial submission – Done in August by labels, basically submitting an application. Think of that as the first audition cattle call.

    Can't wait for the tour. Hope there will be video on youtube, and can't wait to hear the set list. I hope you sing some songs from Analog Heart, which is a great cd too. I hope eventually you can put out all your songs from Analog Heart 1 and 2.

    Cookeater, I also think that KOTN would be a big hit. Not a doubt about it. It's 1000% better than Light On, imho.

    I'm glad I don't have to choose the next single because there are so many great songs on this cd, it would be impossible to choose. I can only say that Light On is my least favorite song on the cd. But I can't pick a favorite. I love Avalanche, A Daily Anthem, Come Back to Me, I Did it For You, Kiss on the Neck, Breathe Tonight, Last Request, Declaration, Heroes, and Permanent. So I think one of those should be the next single. LOL.

    Happy Birthday David Cook! It's such a pleasure watching your journey and all your great performances. I love the cd, and Analog Heart too. Can't wait for more singles, and live tours. You've had a magical year and will have a lifetime of them if it's written in the stars. Success couldn't happen to a more deserving person. I admire you and love your voice. Keep singing and writing! The best to you!!
