David Cook's "Light On" is certainly out to cause a stir, even amongst his own fanbase.
Essentially a power-rock-ballad, the song starts with a subdued piano intro followed closely by Cook's signature voice, a combined effect that reminds of an old school Bon Jovi number. The song quickly builds momentum, and while showing impressive vocal versatility, it rolls effortlessly into a dynamic chorus. But it's not until the bridge of the song that the song really has it's stand-out moment where Cook's raw emotion culminates into a beautiful, soulful performance.

Absolutely stunning. Can't wait to hear this song on my radio. Let's hope I don't crash my car.
Everything good thing you get is nothing less than you deserve.
Congratulations David.

I had tickets to the 8/25 Dallas show, but I missed the meet and greet with the Idols that went on around two that afternoon. I had to go meet my friend Nick – who I had the tickets with – out in Grapevine before we could go to the venue. He’d been hanging out with a friend from California who was set to fly back that day, so we dropped him off at the airport and hit the American Airlines Center for the concert. I was there to see David Cook. Nothing was as important as that. But I was surprised how much I enjoyed the whole concert.
