Yak's Brutally Honest Union Recap, or The B*tch is Back

I arrive at Madison Square Garden to await my favorite Fairy Godpoodle, who once again conjured up tickets for the Yak. I enjoy the ear-piercing yowls of buskers, pleas for spare change and the clickety clack of wobbly wheels attached to totally overstuffed carry-on luggage - and the smells - well, there are few corners on the face of the earth that can match the smells of 31st and 7th Avenue. I look up at the marquis and see an advertisement for Blink 182, Fall Out Boy and All American Rejects. Hmmm...now that's the kind of tour I could get behind for David Cook and The Anthemic.

Why I'm a Fan

*note - I wrote this in Sept and am purposely leaving it to see how I've evolved as a fan over time - dang I was serious! *

I'm a fan (and you should be too) because...David's creativity has stimulated a lot of people's interest in current music again. His ability to connect so strongly to lyrics make old songs seem fresh and draws you into new songs. I am so psyched to hear what he can do not that the shackles of AI commitments are removed. Its just too much fun to be so interested in an artist - its been years! David also has that big heart which seems to be motivate fans to be creative themselves, to be cognizant of others and to give willingly and generously. Can't have too much positive karma in this world and DC is a big contributor. Thanks, David!
