Initially, I thought "Lie" was going to be an upbeat, tender lovesong that I could even envision a couple waltzing to in the dark, but then reality set in with the lyrics! A universal emotion...the inevitable breakup! The reality of an imperfect relationship. We can all relate, and that is why this song is so emotional. Lyrically and melodically, it is ingenius!
I still see the couple dancing in the dark, just this time with tears in their eyes. It's a perfect blend of bittersweet love. Another one of my favorites!

This cd is amazing!! It's exactly what I expected from DC! Very diverse, powerful, lyrically and vocally amazing!! Nothing short of perfection! It is a superb collaboration!! I can't get enough!! It's hard to pick just one favorite...I love them all! But I must say that "Permanent" is transcending!! Every song on this cd has such immense passion and reaches right into the soul!! David Cook has a true gift. It's inspiring!! I've never listened to a rock album where every song touched me to the core of my being!!! Unbelievable!

I love this song! It has a great hook and it stays with me all day long!! (well, and the fact that I listen to it over, and over, and over..) It has the sound of a great rock anthem! But the lyrics are amazing too!

This song is amazing! I cried the first time (and every time since) I heard it!! It pretty much sums up my last relationship....the love of my life. In a matter of words, that is what he said to me!!! It's a very beautiful love song!!!!

"Permanent" is such a beautiful song...perfection!! My absolute favorite on the entire cd. It is so raw and powerful and just pierces the heart!! We can all relate to this song in some way or another! We feel the pain. I think this song will go down in history!!! It is that powerful and perfect of a song...the lyrics, the melody, the combo of piano with strings, the raw emotion, and the beautiful vocals!!! Absolutely transcending!
