My Reviews & Blog

I stole that title from a line in a novel nleigh wrote. Hopefully she won't mind Sticking out tongue

I'm sure everyone watched David and the EEB on the New Year's Eve show on Fox. It was a rather pathetic show, wasn't it? Great to see David get his platinum record for TOML, though...even though it was a bit of an awkward moment. lol. Hopefully the presentation of the platinum record for The Record will go a bit better.

Those of you who read my last blog may have noticed that Andy wore the bracelet during the taping of the New Year's Eve show. If you didn't catch it, here's the proof:

THE SHORT VERSION:

Plane ticket from Tucson to Tulsa: $523

Two Nights at the Crowne Plaza Hotel: $211

A nice new outfit: $285

Kneeling on the floor directly in front of a stage watching a live performance by someone you adore: Priceless

There are some things money can’t buy. For everything else there’s Mastercard.

THE LONG VERSION:

I love Andy Skib. Just had to get that out.

Of course, I have to start this blog by saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY to David. Or as I often say: Pippy-Pappy Burfday. Sticking out tongue I hope he got to spend the day relaxing and having fun with his family and friends. And he had better be having a HUGE party. He deserves it after the awesome year he's had. We know he had the Best Year ever...even if VH1 doesn't think so Sticking out tongue

I spent awhile tonight writing-up a blog entry about the performance of Hunger Strike from Thursday night. But when I got to the part where I actually had to write how I felt about it...I couldn't do it. That's the fourth (yes, fourth) time I've tried to put my feelings about that performance into words, and I failed all four times. Instead, the best I can do is toss out adjectives like "great," "awesome," "incredible," etc. But that doesn't even come close to describing how I actually feel about it.

Maybe there are just some feelings that can't be put into words.

I'm starting off today by saying how much I love the Best Week Ever Commercial with Hologram David. It's great to be able to see David doing some acting, because we know he's good at it. And you can tell just by watching that 30 second commercial how much he enjoys it, too.

I should be going to bed right about now...but I feel compelled to blog about my day today. Sure, I could wait until tomorrow...but I doubt it would be the same. My head still hurts from the stress...my eyes still sting from the tears. So now is the time.

This will be long. So bear with me.

Don't y'all hate the way that technological devices always manage to kick the bucket on a holiday? Murphy's Law at its finest. This Thanksgiving, the device that decided to give me the finger was the AC adapter to my laptop. I was just getting ready to watch the KC lighting ceremony (Yay David!) when I realized that my laptop was running on battery power even though it was plugged in. I just figured something came unplugged, but when I went to check, everything looked fine. It was then that I realized the darned thing had gone kaput on me.

So naturally, panic set in.

So I suppose I should give my thoughts on The Record. I'm not going to assign a "rating" to each song or talk about each one in detail, though. Instead, I'll just talk about a few of the ones that stand out to me.

I think this song does a great job of summing up the last year of David's life. I really love the melody (especially the piano part). One of my favorite songs on The Record!

This is one of the best songs on The Record! I'm not the dancing type, but even I can't resist bouncing in my chair (lol) and tapping my feet when this song comes on on my iPod! Can't wait to see it live!
