Finding a cure for brain tumors and providing support to brain tumor patients and their families is a cause that’s very close to David’s heart. David has been a staunch supporter of the cause since 2009, participating every year in the Race for Hope-DC, rappelling down a skyscraper in San Diego as part of ABC2’s Over the Edge for Brain Cancer, and hosting other various fundraisers all in memory of his older brother, Adam, who passed away from the disease. Since 2009, David and his fans have raised over $1.6 million for brain cancer and brain tumor research through the Race for Hope and other fundraising projects.
David is excited to share that he will be returning to Kansas City, Missouri May 31-June 1 to join hosts Rob Riggle, Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis, Eric Stonestreet, David Koechner, Heidi Gardner, and their celebrity guests for this year’s Big Slick Celebrity Weekend. This will be David’s ninth year participating in this annual fundraising event, with all proceeds benefiting the Cancer Center at Children’s Mercy Hospital Kansas City.
David will join actor Kevin Rahm, tournament chairman Clarke Rheney, and their celebrity friends May 16-19, 2024, for the annual Rahm Celebrity Golf Tournament in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. This will be David’s fifth year participating in this weekend of star-studded festivities to help St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital battle pediatric cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Since its inception in 2019, the Rahm has raised more than $5.4 million for St. Jude.
The Chris Evert / Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis Classic was canceled in 2020 and subsequent years.
It’s unknown at this time if/when David and his fellow stars from the tennis and entertainment worlds will return to this fun charity event that raises money ($24+ million, since 1989) to fund programs for at-risk children and their families.
