David Cook is an amazing vocalist, musician, song writer, entertainer, and musical talent. I appreciate art & music, regardless of genre, that touches, inspires, transcends, challenges, and moves me whether that is intellectually, cerebrally, viscerally, happily, emotionally, physically, spiritually or nonsensically. I have never felt indifferent when listening to a David Cook song - far from it. His voice always grabs me in some way. I marvel at the complexity and nuances in his delivery, as it seems to evolve and is organic - alive in some ways. This is most felt when listening to a live performance or live recording. I experience and engage with his songs and they affect me in different ways, each time. The passion, honesty, earnestness, and conviction with which he sings into and through a song has evoked all those aforementioned sentiments, in varying degrees, and for that I am thankful and appreciative.
I may not be a singer or professional musician, but I can certainly recognize talent when I witness or hear it. Moreover, I love to experience brilliance in person or in a live performance. I have seen David Cook perform three times, once at Newark (2nd Night) and two times in a more intimate venue at the NYC Hard Rock Cafe for the David Wright Foundation Gala and for the night of his record's release, respectively. He was a marvel to watch. He is electrifying as a live performer and his connection with the crowd is comparable to a gifted theatre actor or a tenor who gives life to an aria.
I look forward to following David Cook's career for as long as he continues to create, produce, and release new music. I hope that this will be the start of a wonderful +50 year relationship.
